Sails , 25 Nov 2010No official statement. I'm speculating just as you are. You can find comments on availability ... moreUmm... Do you even know what you're saying? those tweets were directly from Nokia themselves. A tweet is no different than Nokia holding a press conference saying they've sold 1 million 5800 xpress music within a period(before 1 quarter). Yet why didn't they tweet about the n8 then? They said that it has the highest Pre-Order sales doesn't mean much. Pre-Order doesn't mean its sold out at launch, or that they're high demand. Also your comment on why Nokia would have US and EU stocked is ridiculous. If they have a surplus in one area and high demand in another market it would make sense to stop sending shipments to said surplus and send to these markets as they're able to move. Even in the EU which is Nokia's home turf they're having slow sales of N8.
Anonymous, 25 Nov 2010also I would like to see where you're getting information on which country the N8 is still &qu... moreNo official statement. I'm speculating just as you are. You can find comments on availability among the N8 comments on this very site. Of course Nokia keeps Europe stocked since they get the best price there and they keep US stocked, because they try to improve marketshare. If those didn't have phones, other countries wouldn't be getting any phones at all. I think that was pretty much the situation with the N900.
Saying single phone figures on twitter doesn't really prove your point either. If you look at the amount of models, it is in fact very rare.
Sails, 25 Nov 2010N8 had best pre-orders in Nokia history. They have 3 factories churning out N8s and it is stil... morealso I would like to see where you're getting information on which country the N8 is still "sold out" in. Dell USA has nokia in stock and from what I can tell many european countries have stock of N8 as well. Maybe the country that's sold out have no competition in the high end markets like India and china? If nokia can hardly keep up with demand despite having 3 factories pushing out N8's I would like to see a statement where they said that, or are you just guessing?
Sails, 25 Nov 2010N8 had best pre-orders in Nokia history. They have 3 factories churning out N8s and it is stil... moreUmm what are you talking about? they tweeted about the 5800 xpressmusic sales figures. In fact they've mentioned about shipment figures for the 5800 xpressmusic multiple times. In today's market when Nokia share holders are dumping stocks left and right some good news about a good selling phone would be a good thing don't you think so? ;) but if you want to believe thats how Nokia "operates" go ahead, just don't be surprised when their market share in the smart phone department drops from 36% to 20% to be over taken by android and other mobile os.
Anonymous, 25 Nov 2010You really think they haven't made any effort? You think companies just sit around and go &quo... moreN8 had best pre-orders in Nokia history. They have 3 factories churning out N8s and it is still sold out in several countries two months after release. I'm sure the sales are terrible.
BTW, try to find announcements from Nokia history where they have given numbers on single models. There is 1100, but then again that has sold over 250 million ;)
Another good low end smartphone priced high, lol.
TSH, 25 Nov 2010Try again. 434 MHz != 680 MHz. Not to mention the graphics chip. It's all there on the GSMA sp... moresame processor clocked down in 5230 like iphone processor clocked down to 800Mhz. yeah n8 has graphic chips and 5230 does not.
yeah, 25 Nov 2010oh jeez maybe they are losing share due to nokia has not made any effort to compete with andro... moreYou really think they haven't made any effort? You think companies just sit around and go "oh gee, i don't mind if i lose profits and just lose market share". Fact is nokia has been trying to keep their market share, however they failed again and again. Why do you think Nokia is the only company who does not boast their shipping figures of the N8 while Samsung, motorola, Apple, HTC proudfully boast theirs? Its to keep from losing any points on their stock shares. If they shipped in the millions within the first month or two they would've bragged about it as it would've helped their meager stocks. Look at their efforts trying to get into the touch screen market, horrible resistive touch screens, and an OS that wasn't made for touch screen at all. Then look at their attempts at keeping their business users, E72? E73 MODE? those are just rehashed E71's which was their last glory phone ever.
milestone 2 with 1GHz processor and graphic chip for only 379 pounds at expansy.com. Nokia u r stupid
"Mark, its funny that you mention basic psychological principles, as you exhibit what psychologist refer to as attitudes. Specifically cognitive reaction and behavioral reaction."
Actually no, it's called 'winding people' up. You know, the people, perhaps like yourself, who most certainly seem to be suffering from cognitive dissonance to some degree.
Careful, mate, I'm on home turf here. Are you?
0v0, 25 Nov 2010Really i cant understand Nokia's Play???!!!! They are acting very strange. many great phones ... moreIt's not the official price mate, is just the price set by a retailer. Wait till December than we will find out the real price
Really i cant understand Nokia's Play???!!!!
They are acting very strange. many great phones with latest technology and their price is less than Nokia. E7 is a good phone But compared to Galaxy, HTC HD & Z, it is normal. and with 700 Euro!!!! ( really un-absorbing).
if you see HTC Desire Z, it is a way better than E7..
Expansys is always ridiculously expensive for pre-orders. It was this price for the N8 when it was on pre-order with them, so I am bothered about neither the date nor the price.
Nokia has already denied this rumour! E7 will be in stores in december.
Anonymous, 25 Nov 2010e7 has same processor as 5230 lol
Try again. 434 MHz != 680 MHz. Not to mention the graphics chip. It's all there on the GSMA specs page for E7.
The same page that mentiones USB OTG, HDMI and pentaband HSDPA.
Nokia seems to be releasing quite a number of low-end phones and also some expectedly really expensive phones like the N8 and E7. The majority in the middle range uses will just walk away to other platform.
the best things for nokia s3 phone is waitingfor upcoming software and firmware update which will include amazing features
I think nokia has gone mad because e7 is nothing in comparison of any andriod phone i suppose and andriod os is much better that the symbian os and even the RAM of e7 is just 256MB which is just have of the leading andiod phones so i don't think it deserves to be of 700 EUROS !
