And dont forget to say that the english language itself was innovated by Apple so that, with it being a global language, the whole world could use apple products! Oh the courage! ✌

If i want to change the battery on my iphone 5s i decide to which repair shop i want to go (out of the tens that are avaialable near me) and get it replaced for 20£ done in 10 minutes. Or go to apple and get it replaced for 70£. But my phone is 3 years old and the battery is still acceptable.
I just hope with this incident Samsung going back to using removable battery for all their flagships.
As far as I know the only thing they innovate on is the screen... AMOLED and 2.5D style... the remaining are byproducts of the innovation introduced by Apple almost 10 years ago...
Capacitive Touchscreen and an OS that supports and humanly useable touch UI. (Remember the stylus days of resistive touch)
Pinch to zoom
Finger print scanner
Always the fastest CPU and GPU
Remember the first time Galaxy S was launched, it looks exactly like an iPhone knock-off...
Anonymous, 10 Oct 2016The reason why Galaxy S5 had poor sales is that it didn't bring any improvements over the S4. ... moreIndeed. They did not release their phone is on life support SD slots.
When they butchered their S6 without slots, and limited choice of higher capacity versions.. they killed themselves.
AnonD-234961, 10 Oct 2016I think the best option for Samsung right now would be to just redesign the Note from scratch.... moreBetter to just skip it altogether and proceed to finish note 8 fast like hell and start selling it.
Better specs for the price also, since note 7 was overpriced and they cheaped out on ram and storage etc.

So you are asking for planned obsolescence and want to depen... morePlanned obsolescence...
There is much planned obsolescence in other parts of the hardware besides that silly battery.
CPU improves exponentially, which leads to improve functionality and better software. Camera improves, so does all the parts of the phone. Not to mention OS updates.
By the time the battery dies, you would have long changed your phone, ether the lack of software support or slowness. Why not get a power bank, and liberate yourself from the worries of removable battery or no-removable battery?
Anonymous, 10 Oct 2016Sammy 2014 -2015 poor sales is not because of Apple and don t give wrong statement.
Sammy ... moreThe reason why Galaxy S5 had poor sales is that it didn't bring any improvements over the S4. For example people wanted OIS (optical image stabilization), but S5 didn't have it despite the competition phones (like LG G2, HTC One, LG Nexus 5 and Nokias) had it.
Moreover, the S4 I9506 is basically the same as Galaxy S5 (there is no real difference between Snapdragon 800 and 801.)
So the lack of any improvement in the S5 over the S4 is the reason why people were disappointed with it. But unfortunately, Samsung misunderstood it and they started copying Apple iPhone's design in every way in the S6 (non-removable battery, glass body, speaker placement, ...). The worst decision in the history of Samsung's phone division. They lost the common sense. They became just another fashion phone manufacturer.
I think the best option for Samsung right now would be to just redesign the Note from scratch. It's probably not only the battery, but also other issues that are contributing to the fires.

So you are asking for planned obsolescence and want to depend your usage on the life expectancy of a sealed battery? Okay. So much foresight with your opinion.
Samsung deserves it. Hope they die tomolo.
They always copy everything from HTC and LG and then makes a large bezels out of nothing.
The worst is they slap in a ugly Samsung logo in front to make things worst.
Samsung is as good as nothing
It is kinda heartbreaking because the Note7 is a great phone if it isn't having a random spontaneous combustion. It excels so well in camera, display, and battery life. It is arguably the prettiest phone out there. Samsung should just burn all unsold Note7s before this phone does that to us. It's just a phone. It won't love you back. There are other alternatives.
Never again with Samsung. This is worse than the Sony VAIO laptop battery recall. And while it didn't kill anyone before the Toyota recall happened, Toyota's image was able to recover. Not too sure if Samsung will. Samsung is the largest and most popular phone manufacturer in the world. This could damage them for years. Owners gave the Note7 another chance and it failed again on them.
Time to let it go. A failure year for me for 2016 flagships. G5, V20, Note7, iPhone 7 Plus, and Google Pixel all have their share of flaws. Just wait it out... 2017 is coming. Nokia, where are you when we need you, my old friend?
Yal we Americans love our Apple phones and will do anything to make other phones do bad! Now I'll go and get my gun out yal
I think the problem existed long before the note 7. I've had the note 4 for almost two years now and ever since I got it, it overheats ridiculously under various conditions. For example, whenever I use the phone for navigation, it drains the battery quickly and the phone feels extremely warm when I hold it at the end of the trip. The same happens while using other apps that are taxing on the phone. I've been using the note series since 2011 exclusively, but I might just start to think of something else if Samsung doesn't sort this out by the time I get a new phone.
The main reason I use the notes is because of the pen, which is very handy to me.
