Karly, 10 Oct 2016Most Samsung flagships are sold in the US so of course you would have the most reports from there. The smartphone market is no longer a luxury item. The US has provides considerable number of sales, but so does Europe, Asian countries including India and the Middle East as well. Note 7 was released in most of these markets. Around 2.5 million handsets were in the markets as of fews weeks before. The US had only around maximum of 1 million. So how come only the US has a problem.

If you are talking about exploding phones, there was a new report, about an Iphone 6S...
There are no perfect phones anyway. I am curious what on earth did happened at this case.

And yet except the one incident in Taiwan, the replacement note 7 has this problem only in US. No reported case in any other country! Seems fishy much?

Even though I hate Samsung to the heaven and back, when I bought my V10 I thought twice because at that time I had the Note 5 as a solution also. I am not regreting my choice, but there is only one phone which would have made me to forget the V10 and that was the Note 5...and for me at least, it says much. The Note series is what Samsung did best...until now of course and I'm honestly glad that they find themselves in this mess. They deserve it like noone else...

Karma's a b***h!
This is what Samsung deserves after all these years of fooling its clients, oferpricing their devices and adding unnecessary features only to justify the hefty price.
Everyone pays eventually, especially the ones who did the worst things.

I am not a mobile expert by far, but it seems to me that the whole design, SOC performance and the demands on it by the phone, are not interacting properly. I feel it is a bad software and hardware issue, combined. It is as if Samsung expect the Note 7 to perform miracles but its capabilities are constrained.

If not just shipping but also production of the Note 7 has been halted then perhaps the problem is also with the phone itself and not only the battery.

gibran123, 10 Oct 2016they should make a battery like htc ..... not explode but save the owner. http://www.gadget... moreofcourse :)

it has the best batteries out of the bunch..barnone..

this is one of the reasons why i stay with HTC...no matter how much samsung brags about its battery life..then you read the reviews and it says samsung has great battery life..then when you use it, you realize how full of crap those people are..my note 5 lasts probably just about above 2 hours of screen on time.. whereas my HTC can give 4 hours..

And those Sammy fanboys say that all the manufacturers have issue with their phones, NO S**T? When did you hear of an LG phone exploding or any other phone which is not Samsung? I now have to give credit to Apple for their quality, even though I don't like them because they put a hefty price on their devices too, but at least they provide quality at this price. And in the end, Iphone is a niche, not for everyone.

OdysseyTag, 10 Oct 2016There might be one positive out of this. Samsung might bring back removable batteries in next ... moreif the problem is persisting even in the replacement units, from what has been reported, i suspect the fault could be from the phone units!

maybe the news of stopping production of note 7 in korea confirms this point. so replacing the battery is not the solution perhaps!
