KMB877, 12 Oct 2016Impressive like Alcatel Idol 4s, ZTE Axon 7, ASUS Zenfone3, OnePlus3, etc. All these devices a... moreDon't forget productivity improvements. Over all a much faster phone if you learn how to take advantage of BlackBerry's software enhancements.
They have 38,000 patents from being one of the first smartphone producers on the block. Thats why my most ios/android manufacturers don't produce phones good at performing a phones primary functions. Email, calls, messaging, universal Inboxes, shortcuts etc.
AnonD-368648, 12 Oct 2016This is a great deal. It has the exact same specs as the new Google Pixel, except the DTEK60 ... moreThe Pixel phones have the 821 SoC. Still, it's a good deal especially with BlackBerry's security enhancements, software, and commitment to speedy security patches.
KMB877, 12 Oct 2016You can buy a Chinese device (yes, Chinese like BB) with identical specs for $399 or less. Eve... moreDont be ridiculous. I had one oneplus and it was sooo bad... yes they all come from the same area but its like buying a Huffy bike or a GT. There is significant differences. Stay away from knockoffs is my recomendation. BlackBerry is a sure thing.
Love this phone. The looks and specs. Great price too. Who would have thought. Please dont reply to get a knockoff for less. Had a OnePlus3 it was pure junk. You get what you pay. When is this coming out?
Anonymous, 11 Oct 2016That price is actually not that bad for a SD 820 deviceYou can buy a Chinese device (yes, Chinese like BB) with identical specs for $399 or less. Even more, you'll have better battery, better display, better RAM or ROM, 2 SIMs...
JJ , 11 Oct 2016Impressive specs but does Running Android makes less secure compared to non Android BB devices... moreImpressive like Alcatel Idol 4s, ZTE Axon 7, ASUS Zenfone3, OnePlus3, etc. All these devices are substantial cheaper. Are you the CEO of a big corporate and you want to control the emails, phones and especially the address book of your employees (you want your IT department to erase all phone/emai/txt/contacts content when you'll fire someone)? If not, you have no reason to pay $150 in "BB security improvements"!
Just buy an ZTE Axon 7 or symilar.
Anonymous, 12 Oct 2016I've had an Alcatel 302 fiftheen years agoCool?
Anonymous, 12 Oct 2016Why? Outside of the Nexus line, only BlackBerry has proven the ability to consistently provide... moreTrue, and its gonna compete with the Pixels. Anyway they should increase its availibility
Interesting thing is that there is a significant reduction in the number of people bashing the Blackberry here - if you look at the comments section for articles on Priv to DTEK50 to now DTEK60.
Good going BB
AnonD-510098, 12 Oct 2016Blackberry never made this phone, it was AlcatelI've had an Alcatel 302 fiftheen years ago
This is a great deal.
It has the exact same specs as the new Google Pixel, except the DTEK60 has a better camera and costs $100 less than the Google phone. And, you get BlackBerry software and security as well.
This is a steal!!!
Also, it probably doesn't catch on fire like a Samsung.
Also, it has a headphone jack unlike iphones.
bonga, 12 Oct 2016Just because it was deprecated it does not mean that it is unsecure. There are plenty of CVEs that still apply to Qt 4,x that haven't been patched in the main line branch, much less in a fork on an OS that hasn't received a single update in over a year and a half. Maybe 10.3.3 fixes all of this, but it's highly doubtful and even if it does, it will be the last 10,x update as Blackberry is rightfully dedicating all of its resources towards keeping Android up to date in a Nexus like manner.
BB10 is dead. Blackberry has made itself one of the best Android manufacturers however and this DTEK60 will be an awesome alternative to the Pixel for those looking for a powerful Nexus successor that will receive Nexus-like updates.
Anonymous, 12 Oct 2016unibody + antenna strips + centralized power button + glass back = iPhone-Samsung-Sony-ishMore like HTC, as iPhone is the one who copy HTC
I actually like the look of this phone. I really do, well done Blackberry, you've made a phone that i like :)
