They had the Nokia 808 pureview under complete wraps before surprising the world with its massive sensor. So it is plausible to assume that they may have something up their sleeves. No better way in announcing a comeback. I'd love to have a flagship grade nokia android phone.

Nokiwho?

Nokia haven't made decent phones since the 3310! The N series plagued by faults and bad battery life. The Lumia series plagued by bad battery life.

The only only decent thing Nokia made was the 42mp camera for its phone but I had long lost interest in there brand by then.

I guess it would be nice to see Nokia come back and make the bigger brands up there game but I just don't see it some how.

AnonD-405901, 17 Oct 2016Just release a phone, people are waiting already!!!!!it's people like you that kill these companies, you're urging them to come up with a phone that you wont even buy,if people didn't buy Nokia 3 years ago what makes you think they gonna buy it now, especially with tougher Chinese competition on the market

With samsung stumbling, this can be nokia's chance to return to phone business and hopefully reclaim its throne!

The only way to make a splash in the current market....is to launch a product with innovative\rare to found feature....like concept of bendable displays shown by Samsung and Lenovo.....like no buttons (including volume rocker and power) leaked from HTC.....

This is the only way left for Nokia....to win the ppl back again....

Or...to make a real quality product....better battery....no heat up of the device....regular os updates.

Anonymous, 17 Oct 2016Don't expect Nokia to reenter the low-profit smartphone market. This makes no sense from the b... morethey already have announced that they are entering the smartphone market..

from business point of view it does not make sense if they DON'T enter smartphone market..

the brand value that Nokia name holds is enormous still..

and the way they are licencing it will make sure that Nokia only benefits from it without incurring any losses or diluting the brand ..

I don't understand. HMD Global will now make the phones again. The Nokia-Microsoft deal just ended this month... Keep in mind that HMD Global is NOT a subsidary of Nokia Corporation, neither does Nokia invest directly in HMD! Nokia only makes profits by receiving royalties from HMD because HMD will use the Nokia name. Former Nokia Mobile employs that got transferred to Microsoft Mobile and eventually left that company are getting hired at HMD Global, with Arto Nummela being one of them. Arto Nummela will be the CEO of HMD. So I guess it's up to HMD Global for making the phones again. It might take some time because HMD Global is a new formed company that just started...
