Apple, Google and Microsoft are the only ones with intelligent digital personal assistants, I have yet to see a Chinese company come up with their own, but I'm not surprised since software isn't their strong suit. I hear Samsung is now working on their own for the S8 can't wait to see how that stacks up to the competition. When it comes to manufacturing yes China is ahead because of cheap labor, slaves wages, long hours and poor working conditions so that's something to be proud of. And lastly I wasn't talking about GSMA readers I know they're well informed, just the average user in the states and maybe in some other western countries. I'll be waiting for that call, hopefully not too long lol

That ridiculous what about Microsoft, Google etc? Outside of smartphones it's not even a fair competition the US owns Asia. And I said Samsung was the exception, I don't see much coming out of all the other Asian companies you mentioned. Nobody even knows what a Meizu is here lol it's been established that they borrowed the metal unibody design from HTC including the back antenna lines. And the holographic keyboard thingy is a battery draining gimmick lol when China creates something really, truly innovative, like brand new battery tech that lasts for weeks instead of days, then call me.

Those batteries u... morei made a huge mistake, i realized i shouldnt have given your arguements the time of day because of how foolish they are i guess i accidentally put some brands as western when they arent only apple is western that is relevant when you said the west invest more in R&D in the context of smartphones it snapped me back in place when in fact ASIA has more into R&D its apple vs Samsung, huawei, lenovo, oppo, vivo and the like not to mention china's economy is soaring past america at light speed and thats just smartphones china has their straddling bus and japan their bullet trains the west is lagging behind overall
its amusing to see you abandon logic and statistics to stay married to your opinion, when you called the lenovo smartcast a gimmick and showed you something the smartphone world has never seen before it pretty much cemented that btw i meant the iphone 7 took the chinese design from the meizu pro 6

Those batteries usually suck and run out fairly quickly even though they're humongous due to poor optimizations of shoddy Chinese software. Fast charging isn't all that great especially when it reduces the overall lifespan of your battery. I don't know who came up with it first but something tells me it was Qualcomm. Everything else are all minor improvements or gimmicks like "interactive projector keyboards". Moto Mods is based on Google's Project Ara modular phones, just less modifiable lol I want to see real innovations coming from Asia but we both know the west is more likely to do that because of heavy investments in R&D.
AnonD-312515, 20 Oct 2016Lmao I couldn't even keep a straight face when I read that. Those aren't REAL innovations, the... moreyou call high a high energy density battery 4000mah that fits in a 7.5mm body not innovative seeing the context of batteries being essentially unchanging and undeveloped for years? and its the other way around its the west thats copying chinese phone designs now i bet you think the iphone 7's design is apple's own? and you think charging a battery to 100% in 15 minutes is "incremental"
funny how you mention incremental when you can argue that all innovations from the west is also incremental in recent years
lots of things youve never seen before in the smartphone industry that the chinese have done you mean like interactive projector keybaords like in the lenovo smart cast? what else you want to hear motorized swivel camera like in the oppo, lenovo made moto mods a new concept all together we have never seen before that needs polish for now just like how amoled was, night vision cameras, wireless magnetic charging and the list goes on
meanwhile companies like apple steal these "incremental" improvements like phone design(meizu pro 6) and screen flash as their own ,i can see why you might laugh ignorance is a joy i can only say with he exception of LG that china is the only ones making big innovations or attempts every other western brand is doing incremental upgrades samsung apple etc you could say samsung is innovating with flexible displays but they only do amoled and once again the chinese made flexible displays with LCD thats something that was unthinkable

I like how salty haters start concocting elaborate conspiracy theories whenever things don't go their way lmao
AnonD-428442, 20 Oct 2016Besides the point. Fact is the rest of the world can only look at the Pixel phone, and cannot... moreThat's because Google knows those countries are too broke to buy a premium phone like Pixel so they didn't even bother releasing it there, or maybe they produced a limited quantity. Future Pixel's will be cheaper and available in more markets just like Nexus was. Haters are just trying to find any excuse to go after Google just like they did against poor Samsung. There are plenty of other phones in the market so go elsewhere if you feel that hurt in your posterior. Pixel will do just fine in western markets especially in the US, it's not going anywhere so get used to seeing it around. As for tech bloggers, who would trust a non-American tech blogger with heavy-ass accents lol

Fact is the rest of the world can only look at the Pixel phone, and cannot care more since Google themselves are not making it available beyond the small number of markets. Heck, even Japan is not getting one, despite getting the previous Nexus phones previously.
Look at most, if not all Pixel reviews. They are all from US tech bloggers. Meanwhile, the rest of the world moves on. The Pixel is just a hype in its own home.
AnonD-428442, 19 Oct 2016Sounds like you never go outside the US then. The big names in Asia are Samsung and Oppo. A... moreNever is a strong word, I have been to other countries mostly in Asia but I'm always happy to come back to the good ol' US of A. What about wealthy nations like Japan where Apple pretty much dominates? And I said most top-of-the-line non-Chinese knockoff flagships (not including the less popular Pro/Plus/Max/Fat-Ass etc models) are 5.5" or less like the crappy under-specced Sony Xperia XZ, or the wonderful Galaxy S7, or the overrated G5, or the popular iPhone 7, or the newly released and highly lauded Pixel, or the sexy HTC 10, or even the cheap-ass Mi 5/5s and so on. You know I'm right no need to be salty about it.
AnonD-472910, 19 Oct 2016tone down the exaggeration please the iphone started it all but the us is behind every other ... moreLmao I couldn't even keep a straight face when I read that. Those aren't REAL innovations, they're merely incremental improvements. The only thing the Chinese are good at is ripping off other companies unique designs and filling their phones to the brim with useless specs instead of doing something worthwhile, like concentrating on software or producing something we've never seen before in the smartphone industry...try again.
Anonymous, 19 Oct 2016They are out of touch with the average consumer. Average consumer won't want the Pixels until ... moreThen why is the average consumer still buying Apple and Samsung phones? Their flagships are always expensive, just because it's Google doesn't mean anything. I'll admit the Pixel isn't as feature packed as some of its competitors but this is stock Android what do you expect? At least you're guaranteed to be the first to get the latest and greatest updates and features before anyone else on top of the premium hardware you get when you purchase the device.
I think the Pixel is a really good phone and will function well, but it offers much inferior functionality to similarly priced Samsung phones like the Note 7 and Galaxy S7. The Pixel is also offensively ugly and is not waterproof. I see no justification for getting it above Samsung's offering. I'm looking forward to the Note 8 or whatever they'll call it since they Note 7 didn't workout.
AnonD-508301, 19 Oct 2016Sorry but why do you think one has to be note 7 owner to make such comment? Are u blind? try to hear or feel his nickname A Note7 owner.. -_-
Google wants to be new Apple, thats clear. And they will keep these prices as high as Apple if there will be enough buyers. I just looked at Google VR glasses Daydream View. they want for these no-name non adjustable lens POS thing 99 Cad + tax:) Google really:), Oh yeh you are getting remote control with 2 buttons if it makes you feel better.
They are out of touch with the average consumer. Average consumer won't want the Pixels until they are cheaper.

The big names in Asia are Samsung and Oppo.
As for flagships, all are 5.5", not less. iPhone plus, Pixel XL, OnePlus, you name it.
AsusTech, 19 Oct 2016it's too obvious you are not a real Note 7 owner :)Ofc, he is alive you see.
AnonD-312515, 19 Oct 2016Do you have any actual proof of that or are you just mindlessly ranting? Yea. Just go and watch the big tech youtube channels (The Verge, Marques Brownlee , Android Central, Unbox Therapy , Android Authority and so on) reviews for the Pixel. It feels and sounds more like an adverts than a honest reviews of the device. Its like Google sent them almost the same script for them to read - all praise and no mention on the bad sides ;)
