AnonD-356282, 20 Oct 2016Oh please, who keeps a phone for more than two years anyway? No big deal for most people I'm sure...true, especially for non-removable battery..

AnonD-514012, 20 Oct 2016What's funny for me is when the new version come out -Android ---> Why update so slow? Wh... moreikr. wtf people haha. i like updates on smartphone but not on pc (Windows Updates...)
iPhonish look, same as a lot of other brands, that's why Apple can't be taken down right away from the top brands cause these other brands can't seem to get their butts off of Apple's old design
Whoever has kept the Nexus 4 as a phone is also probably perfectly fine with whichever software they have on now. Updates just for updating sake is not the end all be all of using a phone. Majority of those I see toting smartphones don't even know what updates are. Matter of fact, they find it annoying. Only the few of us care...and someone pointed out, we won't be having same phones for over 2 years. Take me for example, the average period I've spent on a phone for the last 2 years or so is just a month. From a Nexus 6P 64gb gold in May I went for the silver 32gb (swapped with a friend for extra cash). Then to Nexus 5X (6P too big for my hands). Then to HTC M9 (sold 5X to the wife of same friend). Then to my current 64gb iPhone 6s. Waiting for Pixel to arrive. Will sell my iPhone for that.
So please stop the bashing it's enough!
AnonD-428442, 20 Oct 2016Two years from the date of release. So if you buy it after that, it will be less than 2 years.... moreThat's true, I didn't get Marshmallow. But it is also true that this is about time for a new phone. It of course still functions properly as a phone, but when it comes to apps etc., it is lagging more and more. I think OS update at this stage would only make it worse.
And for those who don't care about the apps - they don't care about OS either and can use this phone for another couple of years easily.

Oh, and this is not a new policy. It's been the case for a while. Ask Nexus 4 users who didn't get Marshmallow.

-Android ---> Why update so slow? Why no more new update?
-IOS ---> Can i stay with or downgrade back to the old one?
