But why would Sony Ericsson update their phones faster?
They will probably release a phone with 2.3 soon. No reason to make the x10 a direct competitor. I think it is fine that they do the updates with 6 months delay, as long as they do them. I can understand they don't want to cannibalize their own sales.

iphones and even android phones have had this happen
my new symbianOS device has never had any problems and i've had it for a month now
so stop saying that's it's crap if you haven't used it before
cause symbian 3 and symbian s60 5th are totally different

I think saying that SE's update policy is one of the worst is a bit harsh. At least a phone released quite a few months back is getting 2 updates, unlike the milestone XT720, which won't be getting a single update!
any news on updates for the X10 mini duo?

when android want to start the project, samsung and htc where the first to support them. then later came motorola and then last SE.
thats why HTC was the first to launch phone with android.
nexus S was designed by Google and samsung just manufactured. and it was designed only for launching gingerbread.
But SE will bring its own design that will use 2.3 which is Zeus Z1

I think both sony and motorola shud learn to work in more tandem with google so that they can devise some ways to port new updates of android easily onto their handsets, coz i dnt knw wats wrong with google they are releasing new androids os every two months..... No doubt android is good os for smart phones, but google shud take note of all the drawbacks of their os and shud bring new updates with lot of new features(not minor tweaks) if not once in year, then once in six months, this will atleast manufacturer enough time to devise ways to port new os to their handset and this will also make mobile users happy as they will hav more time to explore their previous os....

Sony Ericsson is heading the way motorola did a few years ago,almost oblivion.....they need to learn from their terrible mistakes and fast.If companies like htc can have froyo on their phones 5 months ago theres no excuse for sony only to be laying out eclair right now,its not like they don't have enough resources of technical backgrounds to have it done faster
