i hope so, cuz i am buying the phone, i want to keep it updatedmaybe in 2013. thats not a typo. Sony Ericsson is super lame when it comes to updating the OS.
Id rather stick with the Nexus S. most phones will likely only get a one time update. which also means that theres doubt for gingerbread on galaxy s or desire.

In my personal opinion, the official gingerbread for galaxy s is very less likely, the xda port should follow quite shortly, though.

you only have to look at the comments of various phones on various softwares begging for upgrades that android is a scattered and desperate os, unless you use a google branded phone :D
