Onyxia, 23 Oct 2016I mean come on man. The front look like a Galaxy and the back look like an iPhone. To someone that is narrow minded enough to only every consider phones that has had millions of dollars pumped into advertising, sure. Otherwise you would know that it isn't true. Xiaomi pump all their money into the device and let those buying them sell them.
Anonymous, 23 Oct 2016What about reliability and software updates to solve bugs ect ?reliability in terms of hardware can't be predicted. my mi4 has faced everything but still stands strong till now whereas my brother's redmi note 3 is enjoying holidays in service center since last 3 months. one thing is true that xiaomi has pathetic after sales support just like other chinese competitors. In terms of s/w updates xiaomi doesn't care about latest android versions but all that it cares about is miui and it is pretty much serious in updating miui every now and then. Updates are a mix bag, one update will fix some issues and bring in some new issues and then a newer update will fix the earlier issue and introduce some newer ones and the cycle goes on. If you like way too much customisation you will like the software but it clearly lacks optimisation. If you like roms rooting and stuff you will like xiaomi devices. Overall i have always been satisfied with Xiaomi devices although currently i am using note 5 and nexus 6p. My biggest gripe is after sales and resale value of xiaomi devices are very very low(although they are cheap the 1st time you buy)

Anonymous, 23 Oct 2016What about reliability and software updates to solve bugs ect ?I have used mi4 for a year in the past.....
I was always using developer version of the rom.
It has the best developer community you can ever experience....
There are bugs in each and every smartphone but in xiaomi any bug wont last for more than 7 days when the next update arrives and basically each and every detail no matter how small it is, will be addressed....
Be Cool, 23 Oct 2016But for sure Samsung patented this design. So don't expect this phone outside China if they do... moreYou can expect it pretty much everywhere, where Xiaomi sells their devices officially. Most of those countries have sane patenting system.
Anonymous, 23 Oct 2016That's a premium price for a NO name company. Good luckNo name????
Xiaomi is consistently in the top 5 smartphone makers in the world by their sales figure....
Above htc, lg and sony
First OEM to implement 16 led backlit in ips
Fisrt OEM to implement 4-axis OIS
First OEM to use snapdragon 820

Be Cool, 23 Oct 2016You might be tired(me too), but curved edge display is something else that those nonsense exam... moreSamsung got sued for the whole design dress that took a significant turn from looking very ordinary to looking remarkably similar to the earlier iPhone 3GS when they released the Galaxy S1. They capitalised on that then chose their own path. Basically they rode of the backs of Apple to get a leg up.
LG hold many patents in flexible displays so don't be so sure of yourself. Xiaomi have the original 3D glass back and original frame, how do think that would hold up in court if Samsung would sue for the front?
It would just be a silly mess with lawsuits firing off left, right and center.
BoardDWorld, 23 Oct 2016I get tired of the whole copied bull that people rant on about but lets go with the whole copy... moreYou might be tired(me too), but curved edge display is something else that those nonsense examples that you gave me(used from decades by many OEMs). LOL
Yes the edge displays are patented, and with better reason than, that rectangle display that Apple made Samsung to pay for.
If Xiaomi don't use Samsung's displays or don't pay royalty to Samsung for the display design, don't expect Xiaomi Mi Note 2 to US
(of course using 'Note' in the name is not big deal, and only Apple can sue for such things)
