        dude, even if you don't need the 3d buildings, the least thing you can do is, show it off to your friend how cool your phone is. (if your phone supports it)

        also 3d view would make the map reading much easier

                            I mean, if you have a route mapped, it now can actually stay on it in areas where there is bad data connection (which you can find pretty much on every longer trip). The google maps just became actually usable for longer trips. It is still ridiculously far from offline navigation.

                                      and the speed for the map is getting alot faster and UI is much better and smoother
                                      but if i had an android or iphone i would go nuts cause no offline mode on my gps >.< and no downloadable maps

                                        Offline mode is important to me: although I go online with Ovi Maps for better searching and traffic updates etc, it's negligible data volume compared to actually loading maps in GMaps.

                                        If you can DL maps and stay mostly offline with GMaps, Ovi Maps might just lose its edge.
