I got my Froyo update yesterday (09-Dec) and the transition has been wonderful. My phone is very slick and fast now. And everything feels smoother. Haven't explored all the new features yet, but it's very exciting.

My HTC Legend received the froyo update last night. Luckily I had wifi engaged on the phone at the time. The file was big but took less than 3 minutes to download. Post froyo update - my Legend is running well and faster than with Eclair. It took awhile before froyo was released but I'd say it's worth the wait. Now on to Gingerbread for my Nexus One! ^_^
Don't know about the desire hd, but its certainly better than the standard desire, a new breath of life in the phone, what is difference, thanks to gsmarena for notifying about the update.

I have a Desire and am very satisfied with Froyo. I don't really care how or when Gingerbread comes.
