Maybe for a regular user Xiaomi is ok, but for geeks and tech enthusiasts it is one of the worst. Most of the chinese brands suck big time in therms of updates, no service centers outside Asia and let's face it, we all know their quality build is half as good than the big brands. How do you expect to have top specs at half the price?
I'd rather have a 2-3 year old Sony or HTC than a brand new chinese fortune cookie..
Also, chinese phones are kinda notoriously known for spying on you.
shr, 31 Oct 2016No that's too small for nowadays 6'inches and bigger is great for browsing gaming reading Some people like it small. like me. some like you love it large. it's perfectly understandable that I'd want X while you'd like Y.
The problem with the Mi Mix is the word "concept". This means "vaporware", a phone that does not exist and will probably not be built before other manufacturer's similar phones.
So did everyone miss this article showing the disappointing truth?
shr, 31 Oct 2016No that's too small for nowadays 6'inches and bigger is great for browsing gaming reading What I hope he meant is, that there should be smaller sized phones with big screen to body ratio. I love phones between 4.5-5.0 inch screen sizes. The size of the phone is ideal for me. But if they were to make a phone with the "compact" or "mini" size but with a screen size of 6 inches then I am all for it. Big screen in one hand.
Well, okay it is from this so called quite small Chinese company, Xiaomi. So definitely it would have been better if it was from an already well established global company, such as Samsung, HTC, LG and so on. But we (smartphone users) must bear in mind, that almost all the big companies have had a relatively humble beginnings, so we must give the opportunity (buying their devices, etc), and appreciate the huge efforts they are doing with these innovations, etc. And decreasing always more the almost monopoly of the big companies (for better products, services, and lower prices, etc). So really well done and absolutely keep it up to Xiaomi (including Sharp) for this fantastic innovation of the Mi Mix (the Mi Note 2 is good too). And after that, let's hope (they must) that the big dogs will follow, starting from Samsung, with the quite near to be announced S8. This time even more than ever before, Samsung must (100% definitely must!) produce a true amazing phone/flagship with the S8, for a lot of reasons, mainly, 1 because the (unfortunately) absolute fiasco of the battery problem of the Note 7, and innovative devices such as this Xiaomi Mi Mix, etc. Moreover, the competition from again so called small companies such as OnePlus 3/T (eventually 4) & ZTE Axon 7 (ev 8) that ok they are not exactly at parallel level with the top dogs, but eventually they will be, because they are producing flagship like phones with great value for money. So compliments to all these Chinese companies, such as Xiaomi, ZTE, OnePlus, Vivo, Meizu, Huawei, Alcatel, Lenovo, LeEco and so on. They are all doing an excellent job,for the money and much more, a perfect example is this tru innovative Xiaomi Mi Mix. So again compliments to Xiaomi & lets hope that the big dogs will follow as soon as possible, starting from the Galaxy S8, that it will be an absolute must for Samsung to make it absolutely amazing/innovative and value for its price! Or they will trigger the eventual descent/downhill!
A great replacement for my old Z-Ultra I was waiting for a big sized one
Unfortunately none of the Xiaomi stuff is available here. Hopefully the phone is a slam dunk success so other manufacturers will jump on the no bezels train.
AzureLord, 31 Oct 2016if there was a 4.7" FHD variant. I'd buy it. with SD821+1

Anonymous, 31 Oct 2016No I don't want that Chinese phone.just imagine it has an apple logo
show-me , 31 Oct 2016I wonder why this company is limiting the phone's availability to only certain geographical ar... moreIt's a concept phone that's why. It's was developed as an experiment so they didn't make many. Since it's an experiment they can't mass produce it in case something goes wrong. It would hurt the company image.
Why no option for none of the above? I'd prefer having a top and bottom bezel that houses good quality dual FRONT FACING speakers. And nope to iPhone.
I don't like phablets, give me something similar in 5-5.2" and I'd be all over it. That said, 10mm top and bottom bezel is plenty small enough for me, current phones with 15-20mm are terrible, but that doesn't mean we need to go to no bezel on either top or bottom.
It's still essentially a beta phone with unproven technology., so it's a good thing to have a smaller pool of users to test things out. It looks great and priced affordablely for those who can get it, but I'll wait for a bit to see what the real world shortcomings are (if there are any).
