STAR, 13 Dec 2010WRONG . SONY ERICSSON p900 Announced 2003, 4Q . run Symbian . in 2003 iphone didn´... moreso what? apple did not invent mp3 and creative and cowon dominated the market b4 ipod. Once ipod came out all died. Once iphone came out, SE even slip from top 5 mobile manufacturers. Apple rules.
Still having the big , bold, capital letters SAMSUNG logo. It still looks like an iPhone clone. No originality...
Also, multi-touch exist even on resistive screens, it's only a lot harder to implement. I guess Apple was only the first to use multi-touch on capacitive screen on a phone. But Apple didn't invented anything at all.
Anonymous, 13 Dec 2010I will say sony ericsson will nvr reach apple and samsung league. SE is a minor mobile company... moreMultitouch(pioneered by Apple)
Apple didn't invent multitouch!!
a little history about the background
IBM began building the first touch screens in the late 1960s, and, in 1972..
Multi-touch technology began in 1982, when the University of Toronto's Input Research Group developed the first human-input multi-touch system. The system used a frosted-glass panel with a camera placed behind the glass.
In 1984, Bell Labs engineered a touch screen that could change images with more than one hand. In 1985, the University of Toronto group including Bill Buxton developed a multi-touch tablet that used capacitance rather than bulky camera-based optical sensing systems.
To all of you apple fanboys, nothing apple patented or is using has been invented by apple!!

[deleted post]I will say sony ericsson will nvr reach apple and samsung league. SE is a minor mobile company now as it is not top 5 anymore. SE always delivers outdated softw and non-multitouch screen. Even N8 now understands how good multitouch (pioneered by apple) is.
[deleted post]What league of Sony? Like delivering slow updates and producing low quality screens? Maybe.
This is not a White color version of Samsung Galaxy S is only White back color version of Samsung Galaxy S. Deh, Samsung
[deleted post]Why all the hate bro ? Nokia makes good phones too - especially the N8.
I own a Nokia, but I'm having thoughts about buying myself a Samsung unit - they offer nice bang for the buck. Nokia on the other hand are an institution - I'm using N95 for > 2 years and I'm pretty satisfied with what I've paid for (and I caught it relatively cheap on a new contract too - I'm against spending mountains of dough on a phone) - of course it has its flaws, but my glass is half full (if you catch my drift..).
All the major brands offer different phones that meet everybody's needs - no reason to bash any of them - you should be grateful technology is what it is today - and remember that the primary function of any phone is calling - as long as it "supports" this "extra", there's no need to grind teeth and point fingers.
Enjoy our modern hi-tech world, folks - you know it could be way, way worse..
laaaame.. haha! yep back housing is made out of plastic,
but you have to admit it, this is one of the best phone out in the market
[deleted post]I beg to differ - you see, Samsung is clearly the market leader nowadays in the field of displays. And I don't know about you, but from my point of view, having excellent display quality is a must when choosing a touchscreen phone - the screen is supposed to be the key selling point of a touchscreen gadget, isn't it ?
Sure, SGS has its flaws - like the material it's built from, lack of flash etc. - but you just can't deny it is among the best mobiles of 2010 - and that's an underestimation in my book.
Not that you cannot have your own opinion, mind you..
Anonymous, 13 Dec 2010I thought that too about Samsung before the Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab and the fact that Samsung ... moreYea, that is too bad, that it doesn't have a Flash, but it does film very well in low light, i compared it with my HTC Desire, and the Galaxy S films better.
