Spyware. My phone battery used to last for one day. Disabled google play services and now it lasts 3 days. So, it used 60% of energy for spying and advertising.

it will still have a crappy battery. bc they want to look good and die fast, instead of give performance and last longer.

and it will prob also blow our mind, like note 7.

Imperator Neubaticus, 07 Nov 20164k isn't necessary for those who aren't vr fanatics but if samsung can find a way to sport suc... moreas far as i remember the z5 premium had a 4k display and it did ok with battery life...it rendered everything in full hd and only detected and showed 4k content in full 4k glory...so its possible but i dont see a VR experience going more that 30min max before the battery runs out

In the photo home button is moved to the side of the phone whilst keeping the same wide bezels. I hope that until next year they'll manage to make use of all that wasted space.

The only 4k i wanna see is in the battery.

No need for a 4k screen, but i love my s7 edge so if the s8 edge can do 4000 mAh and even better optimization, i'm definitely buying...

Fingers crossed????

Why, what possible sense could a 4k resolution make on a 5.5 inch screen?

Anonymous, 07 Nov 2016well they better come up with a valid explanation for the note 7 issue, and that to be verifie... moreThe first recall was verified by external sources but the replacements, which were also verified, still had problems.

LynX-007, 07 Nov 2016ok 4k on a 5.2" display is just efing ridiculousI think it is great to have 4k. Given that the battery life is not affected. It would make more sense since they advertise S8 with Daydream feature. I thought S8 was supposed to be VR centric phone but Samsung keep on changing plan. A few days ago they said S8 will be a bezel-less phone. Or at least more than 90% screen to body ratio. I dont even know anymore how exactly they want the S8 to look like.

Put a 4k battery

Please move on, put the button under the screen. We are seeing the "same" design for many iterations.
Minimize the bezels, OPTIMIZE and MINIMIZE the Samsung UI.
It won't hurt to make some progress in battery department too.
And there you have the right recipe for success.

4k isn't necessary for those who aren't vr fanatics but if samsung can find a way to sport such a display without sacrificing battery life then that can only be a good thing.
