Why not make foldable magnifying specs to accompany an 8k 4” screen with stylus. Better still put the display in the specs and use a Kinect like controller...no touch screen.
As Henry Ford said “if I gave people what they wanted, it would be a carriage with faster horses”.
and the need for this is? I don't know why Samsung cant just sort there operating system and there overall usability out. I used to be a big Samsung fan but ever since the note 7 and galaxy s7 its gone down hill. Note 7 was a complete fail iPhone 6s completely smashed it and the s7 edge build quality is just dreadful, the glass is so easily scratched and broken its by far but a joke, I had the note 4 and never had any problem with the glass scratching, the only issue I had was my battery went after 2 years. my message to you Samsung take a page out of apple's book and make you device more effective and usable!
Agent 47, 16 Nov 2016My Prediction is, Samsung soon to fall like Nokia did. why? look at the history of nokia. p... moreinnovate more??? other than samsung which android manufacturer is innovating?? which manufacture had the first 2k display? and the curved edge displays?? the ultrapixel focusing?? integrated theme service??? and what about the wireless charging?? or the excellent gear vr or the s3 watch??? so shut up on complaining, and appreciate , what nobody else did
Folding a Phone should be to reduce its size ...
That is a 6 inch phone becomes 3 inch size in pocket . making it a 21:9 is stupid !
My Prediction is, Samsung soon to fall like Nokia did.
why? look at the history of nokia. people are gett'n bored on your devices,
without the OS your phone sucks!, innovate more samsung so you wond die soon!
Doing all this wont get you anything you have lost your market which the rubbish note 7 and the washing machine which blasted causing damage to alot of people . so trying these stunts wont help anymore am dead sure people would think 10 times before buying your phones.
Does not solve a problem. It converts one too long item into a bulky one .
Interesting though the flexible screen. Can't be your usual Gorilla glass.
The use maybe to be able to fold a screen around several corner, thus spitting up the UI into several useful fields.
still looks like a flip phone since it can only be folded on 1 point
Oncom, 10 Nov 2016iPhone has already this kind of phone in their plan for 2030 or maybe later.why must iphone ? how about other ... oh ... nobody care ~

Note 8, 10 Nov 2016Complete waste of time and effort! Not going to have a bulky device in our pockets! There's enough bulk down there already, amirite?

Anonymous, 10 Nov 2016Samsung already has many foldable smartphones. The lastest is the W2017Foldable and Flip are not necessarily interchangeable in this context.
Anonymous, 10 Nov 2016Can anyone explain me what is the practical use of this?Just think about it - An 8 inch tab which you can fold and keep it in your pant pockets comfortably and move around and still use it as phone AND tablet.
hmm somehow reminds me of the old nokia 2650 flip phone.
Alien , 10 Nov 2016I would love to have a smartphone with 3D screen (the one without the glasses). Having a flip ... moreit has been tried but people did not like. HTC EVO 3D caused people to feel dizzy.
but since display tech is improved considerably, some brand may try it again and maybe have better results.
