The major drawback is the missing support for VOIP.

The firmware updates sucks too.
I have a Wave S8500 running Bada v1.0 and so far I'm unable to get the updated firmware (v1.2 or at least v1.1).
The wired thing is that for S8500 cells sold in other regions of the world the update works...

You have to be careful choosing the widgets too. I had one weather widget for a while that was so hard on battery that the phone will last max 2 days. I've uninstall it and now I charge the phone every 5 days.

Bada needs to improve the Audio Player too... Seamless MP3 experience should sound nice, as only iOS have it...
Anyway... Bada 2.0 should be available to Wave if possible, but who am I to guess and to understand the mind of Samsung, lol!!!

I have a Mr Handfree car kit, the Samsung S8500 wave can connect to it, BUT there is way to much static noise for anyone to here me talk. Is there a known compatability issue with Bluetooth and other handsfree devices? Updated the firmware on both still no luck

hey Samsung,

don't neglect/disappoint Wave s8500 users for not updating to bada 2.0.
they r the people who made wave/bada so famous n gave the big revenues.
so as a Samsung fan request u to release for s8500 users too...

will be waiting for bada 2.0..

Anonymous, 23 Dec 2010If you get a samsung don't ever count on updates. That's the rule.the rule has been changed ,samsung now is regularly updating its phones.

adkane, 22 Dec 2010Ooi! the n8 has 256 ram with support of virtual ram. So get your fact right too. And symbian^3... more'and why many people are taking the n8 as a comparison to the wave? especially when someone says something bad about wave or bada'

they must be eldar's fans. Cheers.

[deleted post]Yawn, what do know about mobile phones industry?

the reason for the small amount of device released for next year is so as to focus on the software.

look at Apple, 1 phone a year. According to your logic, then iPhone must be a fail product.

I rather bada industry to have lesser phones then be flooded like Android. Wow, the fragmentation of Android is a good thing?
