I already have it in the past with my Nokia N95, then they restricted that, it's mystery why. Now finally i can use it with my iPhone too, a clever moove to better from skype!
[deleted post]it's true
i bet you'll get the new iphone when it comes out and believe the same crap he told everyone last year
Well latency is there for about 2 sec. But still it has problem with connecting to video in conference mode (more than one video). Or maybe its not yet supported.
Works like magic on iPhone 4!!!yay!!
well imust admit, i was skeptical then but after trying the sype app with upgrade its fantastic .i ve used if with wifi and it works just fine .. apple and skype keep up the good work. happy new year to all
On 3gs, I checked the skype, but voice is coming late after video. But its a good news for this new year. Its good that we can have video chat with desktops.
it's cool .. buddy
video calls on 3GS? but i guess it doesn't have a front camera! may be we gotta stang in fronta mirror for real video calling experience in 3GS like in my nokia E63 which also doesn't have a front camera but a nice 3G ..LOL
aaptk, 30 Dec 2010wow, video calls on iphone 3gs... that must be magicalLOL. Impossible is nothing :P
i used this new app and its great.
[deleted post]Yeah it is a great achievement for iphone...in one month maybe they will discover sms or bluetooth or any other stuff that other phones have discovered years ago. As allways marketing does anything they want because many people are, how should i say this,... naive and uninformed
Fring app lets you do this already, it works with 3G/Wi-Fi and also with Android. Tango is another one
Don't see the hype tbh
It's really amazing working both very clearly I try by wifi and 3G working very well
What's the big deal? I been using video calls with the Fring app or Tango for ages now.
They work over 3G or Wi-Fi and you can use with Android users.
...or does this do something that they don't do? o_O
is good loung as your eternal rotting
Anonymous, 31 Dec 2010Don't fret, all this iphone mania, been video calling since 2004.First on a Motorola A1000,then... moreYou know why video calling is so big on the iPhone even though it's been around for ages on other phones? Steve Jobs said it himself, it's the "Reality Distortion Field". It's the motto of Steve Jobs, to convince people through superficial charm, half truths and marketing that Apple invented fire. And these people actually buy it, although Steve honestly says himself he is manipulating his buyers. Now tell, is that sad or what?

itz awesome, video calling in iphone is very handy. keep up the good work skype.
Anonymous, 30 Dec 2010but skype cant work on my galaxy s and desire hd...!!!!!!!Don't fret, all this iphone mania, been video calling since 2004.First on a Motorola A1000,then nokia 6280,then Samsung F480,Jet,and now Galaxy S.The after service (if you need it.)is a LEGEND on three, but three nailed video calling for me years ago.Tell you whats strange though,i've seen a lot of articles saying, NO ONE REALLY uses video calls, and I'TS NOT COOL or IT'LL DIE A NATURAL DEATH,but how come now, (however late to the party.)that the iphone can finally do it, there is this pretend revelation. That old samsung F480 is just great at video calling and my Galaxy S has taken it to a realm where the iphone just can't follow and all for free (inclusive minutes early contract any network). But like most of you out there I'm pleased for the normal iphone user at this time. Its just and only an iphone, and its just and only finally got video calling.......great?!
So does it have video as well on 3GS? Using the back camera?
HEY, 31 Dec 2010it is i have it and i have used it clear both in sound and picture over wi fiim on to it, thank you for the reply
