deep space bar, 31 Dec 2010bounce back would be moto making their own smartphoneOS So how successful are HTC and Samsung with their own OS? Their Android phones are the hottest selling items.
3araby, 31 Dec 2010Every phone company introduced something that improved the mobile phone experience, I just don... moreThe way it introduced the app store certainly revolutionized the "phone" industry....
Think about the days before iphone...
- the almighty brand REFUSED to offer any 3G touchscreen phone!
- how many people used the "phone" to browse the web, Facebook, etc...
- how many people were able to download apps at the click of a finger?
My personal experience was, I had a Windows Mobile phone back in 2009. Somebody told me I had to install a software so I can browse through the internet and be able to read Chinese characters (in 2009?).
So where was the software? Certainly not at the click from the phone. I went to the computer stores and couldn't find anything. Finally sold the phone.
No, I don't use iphone, and probably never will. Though I do respect its contribution to the mobile industry.
deep space bar, 31 Dec 2010um....... No nokia made the 6correction 6000 series s60 touchscreen phone

N8? very lucky to find one....out of at least 50, if not a hundred, iphone (4) users.
Anonymous, 30 Dec 2010iPhone 4 sold 14 millions within a quarter and n8 sold 4 millions in a quarter. it is not top ... morecorrection, the N8 had only been out for 2 months and just a month for some countries.. so it has not been a quarter since the phone came out, more like 1 and a half months.. so 4 million is still an impressive number considering nokia has tons of other models (iPhone only have one, EHEM!) and more of the N8's are bought at it's full price unlike the iPhone4 where more than half of the units sold are because you get it for free for a contract..
so i think it's actually more impressive than the iPhones sales figures considering these factors..

Wasn't until late 2008/early 2009 the almighty brand started to offer 3G touchscreen phones, only AFTER iphone 3G was sold worldwide.
Every phone company introduced something that improved the mobile phone experience, I just don't see how Apple helped with anything?

Does that mean Symbian ^3 will offer what Android 1.5 does when the world already moved to Android 3.0?
"Also Nokia is working on a firmware upgrade for N97 and N97 mini which as I understand has made lot of changes to give the user a better experience"
I really wonder how many users still hold on to their N97/mini so they can get the updates...
Anonymous, 31 Dec 2010sorry I am wrong cortex is newer seriesit's ok we all make mistakes
Can we stop talking about the Iphone crap please and urge Nokia to improve the web browser even thou I find it good enough, I just don't like the keyboard layout not in landscape nor portrait. That's one thing they have to fix asap.
Other then that I think Symbian is doing just great, and still has lots of supporters and followers. :)
deep space bar, 31 Dec 2010i swear 3gs has cortex not arm11 but they both have the same amount of ramsorry I am wrong cortex is newer series
