Supporter, 30 Dec 2010So, since January 3rd, even Apple iPhone should be sold with microUSB jack!?In EU - yes.
HAHAHAHA what you gonna do now mr jobs? Not that i dont like apple i just hate that propaganda around apples recently. Magic is gone...
would apple actually switch from the 30 pin charger?
thats so weird!
they should include two ports like nokia did with their latest phones...one is charging and data transfer, that is micro USB and the second one is nokia's own dependent charger...this way we can charging it both way...My experience is with my own N86 which has only one charging port(micro USB).When the USB port is overused or damage..theres is nothing we can do...we cant neither charge it nor data transfer it...I strongly belive we should have 2 charging ports as mention previously...
Earlier, MiniUSB was announced to be the Standard. Now MicroUSB? But one the best news for customers non the less. Atlast, no more fast port and not charging via usb.
Alui, 30 Dec 2010All those chargers in the picture are from Nokia phones. No, at least one is from Samsung and one from Sony Ericsson.
Al-Amin, 30 Dec 2010I still think phone manufacturers should maimtain their proprietary chargers as an option due ... moreWould you care to eloborate regarding the micro-usb woes you had? I had no issues with micro-usb charging for more than 5 years now.
The only problem i had was that people keep grabbing my micro-usb cables without returning them to me. I keep buying cables and they get lesser every year.
So, since January 3rd, even Apple iPhone should be sold with microUSB jack!?
Alex, 30 Dec 2010I really doubt that Apple will ever use Micro-USB... Steve Jobs would rather stop selling devi... moreunless of course steve jobs bangs his head on the sink and decides hes revolutionised technology by inventing a new connector called the flux capa i mean i-usbmicrocharger
Al-Amin, 30 Dec 2010I still think phone manufacturers should maimtain their proprietary chargers as an option due ... morewow what are you doing to them? iphone charger cables break faster then anything else, usb charger cables are usu rated up to 10000 uses before failure, which even if we say using the cable 4 times a day is rated with a mtbf of 6yrs. i guess its how you treat them and if its a universal micro usb charger they will cost peanuts to replace in future
I really doubt that Apple will ever use Micro-USB... Steve Jobs would rather stop selling devices in Europe than having that standard...
I still think phone manufacturers should maimtain their proprietary chargers as an option due to the fact that tear and wear on micro usb is faster. I have had bad experiences with micro usb charging, and never any with proprietary chargers.
This is just me hypothesizing: Nokia will have both microUSB and retain traditional 2mm port. The latter is their own standard for "everything Nokia" as they can universally charge all Nokia phones, bluetooth headsets, and other accessories. The 2mm charger will no longer be included in the package but the user still has the option to buy it as a "fast charger" option. I may be wrong though.
Anonymous, 30 Dec 2010No he didn't it was a subtle dig at apple claiming to reinvent the wheel at every oppurtunity when all it is, is money for old rope.
are you a seppo?
yeah, of course, microUSB standard. but, why it isn't the same "microUSB" as against digital cameras?
