Samsung will launch only 4 to 5 android device this year. They will release phone with bada Os 2.0.
Samsung says they wants to concentrate on their own OS. Rather than google android this is becoz samsung is not happy with the amendments and fragmentation needed to put androids in phones.they cant ammend android in their own way so they develop their own os i.e. Bada os.

So let's go broader since you brought up Apple's selling of 24 million iPhone smartphones. Samsung's sold about 20 million smartphones. Nokia's sold 26.5 smartphones. So there is a ton of phones out there that compete with each other, and make others look like they don't have a chance. But it's opinion to say that one particular phone is "too late".

2010 was year android caught up on steve jobs robbery of a os and 2011 will be the year it leaves it in its wake,well done to samsung and htc etc for this,ces will be extremely exciting for all with androids reaching new brilliance,apple drones have the second coming 'again' with the iphone 5 with new improved full bar phone reception which will change everything again

I don't see why it needed to be said, that there are 3 variations in the US. That's just because the carriers are not compatible with each other.
Every other major country outside North America has the Galaxy S on every carrier too. Just so happens we are able to use the same model because of frequency standardisation.

In 2010 Apple sold 24 million phones and Samsung 10 Million Galaxy S's, not to mention HTC, Motorola and others. So the market is already saturated. Everybody who bought a phone last year will not buy another one this year. And then you have to consider the millions of iPhone 3 users who will get rid of their 2 year contracts, guess what they will buy next:)? Also consider the incoming Tegra 2 phones. People will crash the stores for them, nobody will consider the N8 anymore.

Over a 7 month period, the Galaxy S lineup has sold about 1.4 - 1.5 million phones per month. That's a lot of phones. Good work on Samsung.
