Herodroid, 01 Dec 2016means china anyways. Only nokia brand name and patents are something from nokia. Everything el... moreCPU's RAM' and a lot of other stuff were made in Asia, a long time now. The difference was that the phones were assembled in Europe, now they are assembled by Foxconn, a company that actually does a lot of parts for a lot of brands out their, if not for all. Samsung is an asian company and assembles it's devices in China. Please, tell me, what's the difference? The fact that on their factory is Samsung written makes you more comfortable? You just talk not to shut up. It is not just sad, but annoying as hack to read all this nothingness people like you, like to Troll about. Please, stop spamming and do something more useful...like stop talking.

So basically it's a company made up of many of the same directors that ran Nokia's phone business into the ground when it decided to back to losing horse that was Windows Phone, and owned by Chinese mega-manufacturer that churns out handsets by the truckload, only will now be doing it under the Nokia brand. What could possibly go wrong!?

Anonymous, 01 Dec 2016By that logic let's call you another random person. Same result. Quality control and design is... moremeans china anyways. Only nokia brand name and patents are something from nokia. Everything else from chinese company foxconn. So lets just say, you will be paying apple price for xiaomi phone, which is just a bad combo. Brand name is not worth.

Not all europeans are British, not all the africans are Nigerians, not all the Oceanians are Australians, and so, not all the Americans are from USA.

ktown, 01 Dec 2016HMD is mostly the old Nokia team who were laid off by Microsoft so has the old Nokia dna ;)haven't you read the news?
HMD is not Nokia and will never be Nokia.
HMD is just licensing the Nokia-branded products.

"Starting today, HMD Global Oy is now the home of Nokia
phones and tablets. The exclusive license extends 10
years forward and covers the whole world (sans Japan).
Nokia, the company, will receive royalty payments for
Nokia-branded products made by HMD (for both the name
and for the intellectual property used).
ItÂ’s important to note that Nokia, the company, is not
an investor or a shareholder in HMD. That said, HMD is a
Finish company and thereÂ’s one Nokia representative on
its Board of Directors. Also, FIH Mobile (a Foxconn
subsidiary) will be making Nokia-branded feature phones."

With microsoft investing a lot time for OS,... samsung in new tech, lg in finding what people wants, we come with leftovers who just use same material, design and so on(chinese phones, iphone), not that its bad, they are cheaper though. But for nokia to be successful Next year, they would need not average or just better mid-ranger, but beast of own kind. Something like Moto Z line to be minimum. Well I care most for camera with hi res, hi quality and new tech, in that I can count on just microsoft(like 950) and LG(like v20) to bring something new. Sony got tech but they are in their own world of sw limitations.
So not expecting but still good luck, a lot of luck.

I can't see Nokia making it in this over saturated market the only companies that can turn a profit are Samsung, apple and mid range Chinese brands like huawei.
