is adreno made by AMD? i read somewhere that they bought it from AMD?

mir, 08 Dec 2016No one has ever come close to the single core performance of Apple's chips though. Imagine if ... moreThey already have a quad core processor. The problem with apple is that, while their chipsets are powerhouses, they don't provide the hardware that can take advantage of it. That gpu could run a 4k display like a champ. The software is also too light for the hardware. If android had that chip the phones would've probably had 4k gaming, project tango like vr, etc.
IPhones aren't the cutting edge for a few years now.

And if they made it quad or octa the single core would drop some
I guess with that kind of performance sd835 and its adreno 540 gpu wud almost be 4k console level gaming capable .However android game developers needs to take these soc's and gpu's seriously to provide excellent gaming experience ..they sud also make a universal android bluetooth gamepad which sud be able to run all the emulators and games on android instead of lots of 3rd party gamepad controllers companies making thousands of diffrent controllers which is very confusing plus if u buy a wrong one it wud be as good as crap.
swirly, 07 Dec 2016And then the A11 comes. It's a cycle. No one has ever come close to the single core performance of Apple's chips though. Imagine if they actually put a Quad or Octa in their phones.
Christ 830 isn't yet been released and now 835 is up! Geez Qualcomm stop!
What they really need to improve is their Audio dac.
My note 2 stock still sounds better than a rooted and viper boosted s7 edge. Just a little less punch which is really fixed in root and viper. Or even simply boosting volume without any mod.
glad to see the M Law is still valid, at least for mobile chips.
AMD's downfall made Intel and Nvidia too comfortable...
Mirkran, 07 Dec 2016SD820 is faster than Exynos 8890 (single core and graphics), but the latter is more efficient ... moreNo. Inefficient tests showed that it was faster. But now improved tests and real world tests showed otherwise.
Anonymous, 07 Dec 2016Then why is the exynos faster than the snapdragon and with better power efficiency? SD820 is faster than Exynos 8890 (single core and graphics), but the latter is more efficient than the former (and better multicore performance).
Anonymous, 07 Dec 2016Even GSMArena didn't get it, cores aren't everything. And if these were really 8 KRYO cores wi... moreI read somewhere that SD835 should be using the Kryo 200 architecture, not the first-gen Kryos in SD820 and 821. Is yet to be seen how will it perform against competitors though.
Also I read that the succesor of the SD650, the SD660, will use the same Kryo cores found in SD820 and 821 and the Adreno 512 GPU.
Anonymous, 07 Dec 2016Again, not true. 99% of apps and games only use 1 or 2 cores. So single core performance is th... moreI owened two octacore cups, Sp810 and MT6752. When you do something heavy, like opening apps or installing apps, something between 4 to 8 core go max clock and it happens for both cpus. That's true that single core is important and SP810 is faster than MT6752 when cool for having A57, but both single core and multi core are crucial for good performance.
too much emphasis on graphics benchmarks for CPU's, I have never done hardcore gaming in my life in my phone, and I doubt most people do either.
