The S8 should be all singing all dancing but from the rumors their going to make an ash out of it. Firstly the home button could be intergrated into the power button, 1 press takes you to your home screen, a second press turns the screen off/on. A long press gives you the power options to reset power down ect. this should also have the fingerprint scanner like the xperia x compact.
The deal breaker for me is if its too big and heavy a screen size of 5.2" is very good for a flagship and a weight of around 150g. bigger than that and i may as well carry around a flat screen tv.
its a shame to hear its not going to have dual lens which id hoped would have been a wide angle lens the lg g5 takes stunning wide angle pictures and i was hoping samsung would want a slice of that pie.
Having a huge phone with everything missing just seems ridiculous.
The first problem is, it's Samsung; they don't care about their users after selling many millions of phones and leaving users with out of date and vulnerable devices far too quickly. Fix that problem, don't force us to have all the bloatware and don't limit us to Samsung Pay either. Guess it would take a great deal before I go back to Samsung now after having experienced huge disappointment with lack of updates (just for starters) getting updates for a good deal of time is very, very important; more important than most other things if not all other things.
Having shattered the rear of mine, that may or may not have lead to it eventually locking up completely, and having owned an LG G5 with superb wide angle lens 2nd camera:
1. No glass rear - just too fragile, plastic please, like the Note 4 and LG G3.
2. Wide angle lens equipped second camera or wide optical zoom if possible.
3. USB-C (assumed being Note 7 had it.)
4. Not bothered about 3.5mm jack because bluetooth now offers excellent audio quality.
5. Water resistant
6. Wireless charging
7. Rear or right edge finger print reader
(Based on using LG G5 and Sony Xperia XZ)
8. No bloatware
For me it's easy - no analog audio output = major problem.
My daily driver right now is Meizu Pro 5, and that is realy good "audiophile" phone.
I would realy like my next phone to be worthy upgrade - faster, better screen, much better camera and better or at least the same sound quality.
Samsung S8 (5,5" or bigger) Exynos version with Wolfon DAC would be nice.
no removable battery!
within s8 price i can get 3 xiaomi mid end phone, that will solved my trouble with battery, i just cant go with power bank!
TouchWiz is my dealbreaker. Never again. I use clean Android, not these skinned things by manufacturers.
LUL, 11 Dec 2016Im a simple man, i see "no headphone jack", i dont buy.I see what you did there...
no speaker and no charging port also. only via chi wireless charging and Bluetooth speaker only would be great.
If there were some it would be no assistant, no pen, low res camera with smaller field of view than Xperias or v20. Actually Samsung phones can do almost all you can think of, what's there to not like...
The major dealbreaker for me is if they offer it in only Edge variant. Their curved screen edges doesn't suit me.
To be honest none of the feature mentioned here can be called a deal breaker.
No dual camera - S7 competes neck to neck with most dual cam flagship phones.
No 3.5mm jack - In 2 years time pretty much all flagship phones will drop 3.5mm jack, so why not now.
No Home button- I voted for no home button just for fingerprint scanner, other than that I don't see any use of physical home button. And I'll gladly let go of the home button if I can get stereo speakers.
No Bezel - To each his own, but long as phone is durable I don't care if it comes with bezel or not.
honestly none of these are dealbreakers there should be another option or smth
