ps a lot of users have tried and rejected use of a smart phone.
I do agree with you that the sheer volume of touch screen phones that all look/function alike is getting old.

WHATtheHELL is wrong with samsung. At that price you could get a nokia smartphone with wifi, which is still better than a feature phone. Plus its identical to the star/corby/lindy entry level series except for the wifi n, which is absolute crap as I can say, as i have a samsung vibrant. Seriously, wifi just doens't work on this thing,making it redundant within its price tag.

Looks like the new Samsung galaxy player. Anyway, looks don't sell devices, marketing does that, thats why guys go out and buy a phone, when you haven't even seen the reviews on it as yet because a phone is the new thing doesn't mean it will meet your taste or serve you well. Nokia does it for me, Iphones for others, Droids for many others but it all comes down to you and what you like and what works for you.
