it wont be true... samsung always keep home button infront, as its always be.... its kinda like its because its S series... if they really do have a FP at back side, it must be other varian...
AnonD-39337, 17 Dec 2016Except when the phone lies on the table and you want to unlock it.Just pick it up. Or use the alternative pattern password. Is that so hard?
AnonD-325, 16 Dec 2016I don't like rear mounted fingerprint scanner.i think it's not practical.if samsung does that ... moreExactly.. Front FP is best.. easy to hold and unlock.. I like S7 very much.. wish it was 4.7" phone..
Well personally, if I have to choose between screen real estate and front fingerprint sensor, I'm absolutely gonna pick the more screen real estate
I like the FP scanner on the back. Much easier to hold and deal with than a tiny spot at the bottom of a top heavy phone. I would love this
mir, 17 Dec 2016Phones are under 200 grams. Even babies can pick them up. Don't be such a pansy. You obviously don't know nothing about practicality or usability. Do you have a remote control for your tv? No? Just stand up and go change the channel right?...oh well.

If Samsung do this and put fingerprint sensor on bck i am not gona buy new model...im gona keep my S7e.
Putting the fingerprint scanner at the back is a very good idea. Im more comfortable unlocking my Honor 8 using fingerprint than my OP3.

I think the fingerprint on the back is a good idea!
The Huawei P9 killed it with this design and it works so well, your finger naturally goes to that spot and so easy to unlock the phone.
Capacitive, ceramic fingerprint sensor, or be prepared for disapointment. Guess its just gonna be the ol plastic button that wont even turn on your display if off -.-
Early last year I had say only chinese manufacturer would put the finger print scanner at the back because they couldn't fit the scanner at bottom bezel. Come this year, even Pixel one of the best phone of the year had the scanner at the back. Next year samsung would put the scanner behind too, interesting...
I don't like fingerprint on the back because when i'm at work, phone rests on the desk and i don't want to pick it up every time i need to check something. Not practical at all.
AnonD-282770, 16 Dec 2016Not a good decision to keep fingerprint scanner at the back, always better to have it at the f... moreIf you just want to check something then hit the power button, or use double tap to wake. If you want to do more than that then almost all the time you'd want to pick it up.
And it looks like Samsung's priority is reducing bezels and giving people a bigger display in the same form factor. So they will either put it in the display or if that seems sub-par they will put it on the back.
