Fingerprint scanner on the back sort of defeats the whole point IMO. Might sound silly but kind of a dealbreaker for me
Almost everyday there are new rumors of the S8 where I think: Samsung what's wrong with you?! You can only choose between too big 5.7/6.2 inch displays, only edge variants, fingerprint on the back. On the back!? Samsung I will turn my back on you, next year I'll upgrade my Galaxy S6 for a phone that is comfortably usable with one hand (4.8 to 5.2 inch display), NO edge, and a fingerprint on the front like HTC did with the 10 or what Sony does with fp in standy button. Samsung will learn their lesson with low sales of their next flagship phone, IF all these rumors are true. We'll see..
AnonD-610388, 16 Dec 2016Im glad that I stopped being a Sammy fan there so much better phones\companies than Sammy. If ... moreme too... i go for xiaomi mid range phone, they are soo good! within samsung flagship price i can get 3 xiaomi mid range, that is works very good for daily driver or even for gaming
Not a good decision to keep fingerprint scanner at the back, always better to have it at the front.
Real life use case, normally in office, phone is mostly lying on table and now to unlock phone to check something front side scanner is convenient to use without lifting the phone.
Adding it to back side has no real advantage but having it in front has more practical uses.
AnonD-510098, 16 Dec 2016What are you about? No one mocked the pixel for rear fingerprint scanners. nexuses always had ... moreThe pixel is a jock by all means. Tech people only want it because of Google name. Otherwise all flagships has everything it has plus way more. And the gimmick camera claim is just a score and not real life results iPhone and the galaxy beats it by ions. The let alone the price that matches the others. With a late release phone. Htc already down to $500 for the holidays and that is way better of what gthe pixel offers
LG superfan, 16 Dec 2016Why people complain about back fp so much its not that bad your finger naturally rest on the s... moreAnd I bet everybody that hold there phone, hold it where their thumb scrolls and reaches the home button. So with the home button you can use on the table and off. And not lose screen space
OMG !!! WTF !!
please Samsung! DO NOT DO THIS !!!
I repeat, DO NOT DO THIS !!!
try to find a way to put the FP sensor on the front side, unless you will lose lots of your loyal customers, it's so stupid to put the FP on the back!!!
PLEASE DONT DO THIS !!!!!
AnonD-510098, 16 Dec 2016Huawei have the fastest fingerprint scanners in the mobile industry. See OnePlus 3/3T, it's more fast
I rather suggest that samsung should stick with home button and have very srong finger print sensor even if this will have aboit 83% as display screen which I like than the 90%, because this less risk of creen damages in case of phone drop.
AnonD-510098, 16 Dec 2016Huawei have the fastest fingerprint scanners in the mobile industry. sry dude ....sony is the fastest fingerprint sensor in mobile industry... check it on YouTube..
Dear sumsung please don't do that i think its not good for your costumer....
Fly Sheikh, 16 Dec 2016It seems Samsung wants you to use the iris scanner by all means. I'd have preferred the onscre... moreThe onscreen fingerprint scanner has been tested. It is found to be inaccurate. That's why Samsung abandon the idea. The last thing Samsung need is to introduce a new fancy fingerprint scanner embedded in the display that don't even work. Please read the article.
Finger Print scanner at the back..is a bad IDEA!
Well, all these different rumors are creating a lot of confusion. But finally, what ever it will be the case, it's a must for Samsung to create the best flagship ever
