so the draconian system that is iphone ios has been tightened even further. Apple doesn't want you to know whats in your phone even months after you've bought it.

How dare you question their command and try to open 'your' iphone:

All the Nokia fans who's hatin' on Apple, grow TFU!

The iPhone alone beats Nokia's profit with all their phones combined. And sorry but Nokia just dropped 40% of their profit. And now even there stores are shutting down. SYmbian^3 is dying and no one gives a sht about it.

It would be interesting to see if Apple can keep up the momentum when Steve Jobs permanently "exits the scene". It may sound insensitive but it's a reality the company has to face sooner or later (probably sooner).

Good to see Apple being rewarded for great industrial design, marketing and foresight. Being able to predict and guide what the consumer wants is a rare position to be in and they are making the most of it.

Still not my choice of device - Sym^3 appeals to me more, for various reasons. Very much looking forward to the upcoming browser and camera interface tweaks, and Ovi still has a lot of catchup to do with App Store.

well good for apple and their rich investors who will get richer. I don't see apple helping the poor like microsoft, and many other companies. apple products are like the illegal drugs, you get addicted to their products and ripp you off by spending all your money. you get nothing good off them.

Apple is now the undisputed number one phone maker with $10 Billion worth of iPhones sold in the last quarter.

Nokia stands zero chance of matching that no matter how many 599€ N7's they sell.

This profits are not made by themselves nor the people who buys Apple are stupid. The products are excellent and an example to other companies on how to make things.

At the end of the day, the gadget defines what you need. I am happy that Apple and Iphone sales are growing. And as an end-user, that means more developers would be creating interesting applications for the Iphone.

Iphone starts with the bare minimum and it's up to you to define what your phone would be.

Some users may want is as productive as possible and download productivity apps

Some users may want it as a gaming device and download gaming apps

Some users may want it as something they can carry when they travel and download lifestyle and travel apps

Some users may want it information driver and download news apps

Or it can be a combination of those.

Some guy from Greece, 19 Jan 2011You mention few interesting apps. Are they all for free? Where can i find them? I've heard th... more- which dont send files over bluetooth to other phone - there's an app for that. Check app store.
App name is Bluetooth Manager (free)

                              - does not have a usb mass storage - there's an app for that. I downloaded it. Check app store.
App name is USB disk (free)

                              - no file transfer to PC - there's an app for that
App name is USB disk (free)

Citrix and Webex apps are free

Generally apps are just $0.99 for other premium ones.

For the multitasking, just update you iOS to 4.1 onwards and just double press the home button, you would see your running ups and you can toggle between them.

When a company posts profit margins of ~23% I, as a consumer, should be concerned that I am voluntarily robbed. Apple clients considers that the success of the company is somehow their success too, being happy with their buying decision. Apple products are good but to pay what they ask is plain and simple stupidity or snobbery. Or both :)
