Apple sells for three main reason in my opinion:
1. Prestige
2. Aesthetics
3. Functionality
I haven't owned any of their product so i might be wrong, but this is what i think about Apple's products.

I,ll never buy the iphone but the other things from aplle are brilliant.the ipod has no match in the mp3 area, the ipad is the best tab only galaxy tab equals it, the notbooks and mac desktops are the best in design.to bad that in europe apple products have very big prices comparing to us.the controversy is that we sell our europeean products at the same price or even cheaper to americans but they wont do the same.

the only apple device I like is IPOD touch...

Iphone will always sell and suck .. but i Had a Iphone 3GS once it was nice but I didn't really like it.
