I remember thinking long and hard before getting my Galaxy S... after having an HTC Hero...
I have to say, I love it, it's still the best Android phone out (Nexus S maybe has just pipped it) and to be honest...
I can see myself getting the Galaxy S 2!
Very rare I stick with the same manufacturer - but Froyo update was timely, of course we'll not get Gingerbread - but hey, by the time that comes out there's always something else - it's impossible for phone companies to keep up with Google's updates at the rate they're chucking them out, and somehow keep their phone individual (i.e. UI, etc.)
Totally happy with mine.

Got 2.2 on my Galaxy S, rooted it, lag fixed it, overclocked it. 1939 benchmark results. Beats the nexus 1 running 2.2 in performance. Put in a fat 3000mh battery coz of the extra power needed. No crashes, no black screen. Excellent. Couldn't care less for 2.2.1. Galaxy S is the best, bring on the next one. By the way, will run for 6 hours only with the 1500 battery.

Surprisin... moreim guessing from your comments youre a seppo, how delightful the first thing you do is reach for a lawyer and the second thing is claiing youre going to jump on the bandwagon to get your slice of the action, how have you been deprived of anything? can you make calls without froyo.. yep im guessing so, can you text ... yep guess so, use the net .... guess so again, so what the hell is there to sue for? you should just wait and get on with it

Samsung sucks, they don't stand for their products and they have the worst customer care ever. always trying to catch up ... and they will never do ... my advice don't ever consider a samsung.

Sadly this looks like the end for Samsung Wave series and the BADA OS. No presence from them whatsoever in the last CES and now this MWC also a no show.
Samsung has dedicated itself to the Robot. Oh well no loss, Samsung is terrible with firmware updates anyway hahaha. Dream on as no Samsung andriod phone will be equipped with latest versions of android.

Galaxy S users will be getting the update and new phone will be releasing on 13th Feb.
Hope it will have latest Gigerbread OS and a good Cam (expecting 8MP or more) with single or dual Flash.....
waiting for the new mobile beauty.

Galaxy S already has great hardware and is surprisingly nice in the hand. I wonder how they can make it better? Would be AWESOME if Samsung and Motorolla had allied to work on the "Phone-Desktop dock hybrid" idea together.
