Anonymous, 29 Dec 2016If this is going to be used on Android devices, then it will still be an average-performing CP... moreIt has not much to do with OS. iPhones are faster because of NVMe storage which has a huge advantage over UFS 2.0 and maybe 2.1 but we don't know yet. Also, Apple uses much bigger and less high performance cores which leads to a multiple times better single core performance at same multi core performance but little worse power management.
Wow Cat. 16, that's high. But I'm still not sure about the other things. For example, why does PowerVR GT7600 with 6 cores have not much less performance than a 20 core graphics card ? And why does the SD have to have such high click speeds to reach Exynos performance, is it really that weak. And when there is Kryo, does that mean it uses the same old cores as SD820?
reminds me of Kirin 950 when I see these speeds. (2.5 high &1.8 low is Kirin 950. )
however. It'll be a great anticipations to see which variant the S8 Will get. I got the feeling it'll be 8895V for the S phones. and 8895M for Note. but it's just assumption. ^^;
Anonymous, 29 Dec 2016i dont think so.i think the kryo cores are also 2nd generation ones not just overclocked ones.... moreI'm not saying you're definitely wrong or I'm definitely right but if Qualcomm changed anything architecturally or design wise, it would definitely be in their best interests to change their chip name to differentiate them from their previous generation.
And Kryo isn't based on ARM A57 cores - an early comparison by Anandtech shows that they are more likely to be based off Krait (their other custom core before SD810).
So, in my opinion, if their SD835 ends up with Kryo cores, yes they should be very similar to their SD820 counterparts except they are built on the 10nm process thus more efficient. BTW Intel does this too.
My reply was to that SD finally "winning" Exynos with their SD835; but nobody will know until they have devices on the market, but based on their naming alone, Qualcomm isn't winning Exynos in that they are just reusing their old cores and overclocking them.
But, who's to say they can't do an Intel?
2Q 2017 for release? Are all the flagship smartphones next year going to be delayed a few months? TSMC's also rumoured to be delayed affecting new ipad.

I want only snapdragon.... What the hell .... I don't want this shitty exynos in india .... Why samsung is not understanding this .... Hell of a company ...

You may buy a power bank too so you wouldn't charge until the month is over!

God, which cave are you living in now. If we are solely talking about GHz in CPUs now, Intel's would have hit 10/20/30/100 GHz by now.
How fast a CPU is no longer limited by their GHz. It depends on so many other things like core optimizations and such.
Both the SD835 and the E8895 are on 10nm as reported in the article (do you read?).
E8895 could be using new design / architecture (M2 Cores compared to M1 in E8890) with better core optimization.
If anything, (by their naming) it looks like Qualcomm SD835 are reusing the same cores found in their current gen SD820/821, and solely depending on the more efficient 10nm process to overclock the same chips to differentiate their next year's chip with those of this year.
IF that holds true, I would much much prefer to get a E8895 in my S8 rather than a SD835. Hopefully Samsung continues its tradition of using Exynos in Asia
