Nokia n9...!! am waiting to see you... Am sure meego is going to rule the smartphone world... I know nokia is not going to sit back and watch android's success, it will fight back with it's new OS.. Intel+nokia their is no comparison to this partnership... Long live nokia... I love nokia..
[deleted post]Some Galaxy S phones have hardware QWERTY keyboard, some doesnt. Some have secondary display, others doesnt. They are clearly different models and they are even categorized as different models in gsmarena or other servers DBs. Difference between C6-01 and C7 certainly isnt bigger then between Samsung Continuum and Samsung Epic 4G, which are both counted in "Samsung Galaxy S" sales. Your other point, about carriers free choice of Nokia's models is wrong aswell. In my country some Nokia's models are sold exclusively with certain carrier, and not with others.

Nokia is build better? Last time I check, most of the Nokia phones are made in the same factories in China that made the iPhone and Motorola Android phones.
if people don't like Nokia, then why do people still read this? if you like other brands, then why bother reading this, right?
U can't compare Nokia N8 sales to Samsung Galaxy S sales, since Galaxy S actually consist of like 5 different models (Captivate, Vibrant, Continuum, etc... ) which differs from each other as much as N8 from C7 or C7 from C6-01.
Anonymous, 21 Jan 2011just noticed something.... look at all the news here at GSMArena, news about Nokia always have... moreso what?? sales and market share price determines company's success. 1 millions comments can be made here and company still can bankrupt
deep space bar, 21 Jan 2011crappy phones cause of the OS right like everyone LOL your too generic man N8 build is seco... moreanyway iph4 and motorola xt720 built nicer than n8. Os is hardest to change. Software engineer earns $50,000/yr. Every chinese manufacturers can produce phone like n8 and 12mp sensor is 35$ for today's price
just noticed something.... look at all the news here at GSMArena, news about Nokia always have the highest number of comments than any other brand. looks like Nokia is still on top.

N8 build is second to none
i own one and it's a beautiful piece of work
even in reviews they say the phone is very well crafted and designed well
rememeber an OS can always be changed
when you have your cheap android phone break on you then you'll understand
[deleted post]symbian os released since late 90s. First touch symbian os was used in 2008 nokia 5800. Current symbian 3 is on nokia n8.
"Most hotly anticipated smartphones of this year..." GSMArean is always so optimistic about Nokia. Like all other craps that Nokia released recently, just another phone with an OS that nobody care about or support. For all those Nokia fans out there the keep saying Nokia is doing well, why did they have to hire a new CEO (and he is from Microsoft too)? Why is Nokia's stock at an all time low? Why are they continuing to lose market shares? Oh well, hope you guys keep on buying crappy phones from Nokia. Since unfortunately, I actually own their worthless stocks.
it's about time Nokia, it's about time.

Kadhar basha, 21 Jan 2011N9 is very smart phone 512RAM 1GB ROM 1Ghz processorit is like 2010 line up specs of iphone and android!! nokia is so late
Currently I'm leaning towards N8 as it could be a true replacement for my P&S digicam (for happy-snaps anyway). However I do love a hardware keypad, so N9 will steal me away if it can provide equal or better:
- camera performance
- connectivity (incl. HDMI and USB-OTG)
- software/OS built-in feature set to match/beat Sym^3
The leaked hardware specs look promising - really excited to see what Nokia has come up with.
Also, what's with all the negativity, folks? The market is big enough for everyone, and it's not as though it matters if someone else likes something else. I don't like Apple's whole lock-in ecology nor Android's relatively sparse built-in features. But each to their own, I say!
forgot the name :)
So after reading some articles, i decided to change my bet:
------
Nokia N9: TI OMAP 3 (ARM Cortex A8) + Broadcom VideoCore IV GPU (BCM2763, 1080p recording and playback, even rendering games @ 1080p through HDMI). Maybe TI OMAP 4 (dualcore ARM Cortex A9) instead of OMAP 3.
------
Next generation of Symbian devices (Q3-Q4 2011): ST-Ericsson U8500 (dualcore ARM Cortex A9, 1080p recording and playback, dual XGA (1024x768) output support) including ARM Mali 400 GPU
------
Nokia MeeGo tablet: Intel or ST-Ericsson U8500 or TI OMAP4 :)
