689 comments! This just proves how popular Nokia products is or how much Nokia is hated by the individuals who uses other smartphones with different os's. However, I use the N900 and find it to be the best mobile that basically gives you everything except hd playback and recording but comparing it to the top Android devices and even Apple device it just gives more and don't require needing a itunes for this or that or a Android store with garbage apps and even with this 4g crap and faster processors that drain battery so fast it's unreal the N900 stays stable and play every movie file I've seen listed. Android doesn't and well we know Apple is stuck with what they give you
A bad choice that nokia sell the phone straight up price. Unlike other phone company they go thought 2 yrs contract, which is better sales.

Symbian is popular as hell.

Sure, haters gonna hate, but in the end why so angsty? I love all the new tech in the mobile scene - everyone has preferences and this broad market motivates innovation.

I have personally used Android and I didn't find it that practical (HTC Magic), used an iphone for a bit as well and didn't like how it relies so much on the app store and itunes. Use Windown 6.5 phone and it was so annoying to use (maybe it was the phone HTC Diamond), Haven't used Bada so I can't comment on that, neither Windows 7 mobile nor BB. But I have been using Symbian for quiet sometime now and I really enjoy using it, very easy to use and quiet simple. Using the E71 atm and loving it. Super phone has its flaws but still better then most phones out there. All I use is Email, texting Calling and web browsing, not much of music listener not camera person, so they don't matter to me that much.
I think this Meego phone will be an interesting OS regardless to what people say or how much they hate. Nokia has been very supportive when it comes to software updates and giving the people what the want, and I do admit Android and Iphone have some features that attract people more then Symbian but then again no phone is perfect.
I just always like to see new tech, and it doesn't bother me who makes and puts this new tech to good use...
All the best to all.
Now this is a phone i would consider! :-)

For the majority of the bugs in the list there is no workaround.... moreYou are going about them releasing it as an issue, but you do not even know when the release date will happen. So what makes you think you know they won't fix it by then? I also don't recall that Nokia announced they will be presenting the N9 at MWC, it's a rumor. Sure I hope it's true, but I won't speculate.
On a side note, you do realize that some of the biggest companies are backing MeeGo, right? Obviously they see something in it, otherwise why would they invest so much time and money into it. I look at it like this, if Intel and AMD (who are rivals) are working together on this, then it must be something special.
all the comments are useless. only just take a look at the huge number of comments posted here and you will realize how important is nokia on market, how attraction or envy or false deny produce this brand to all people. practically, judging after the immense interest shown here,we all can realize how wanted and envyed are indeed nokia mobiles,no matter what they are saying driven by envy
Symbian will never die . ( nokia N and E series owner, and of course the unique 6260 ) Between Wm and Android i`ll choose of course Wm, why dont ask, you know already..
Symbian Fan :) Cheers :D
Anonymous, 23 Jan 2011I have to admmit it the N9 will be the best device on the market!Yes, just like the N96, N97, N900, and the N8. Only if its sales numbers prove it, lol.

For the majority of the bugs in the list there is no workaround. Can't you read our what? And do you really believe that someone will launch a phone where you have to keep the dialer open to receive a call? Whatever bugs the phones you mention there are major differences compared with MeeGo. It was only a major bug per phone mainly, and they were fixed. With MeeGo there are a lot and they are not fixed yet. Yes, they might be fixed, but when? In six months? One year? By then people will wait for iPhone 5, quad core processors, 3D screens, etc. Who do you think will want the N9 with a new OS(no apps) by then?

Btw, did they also state that you cannot ever receive a call? You cannot leave the dialler open all the time but there are workarounds until they fix it. Even the n8 has bugs but it still works. Like 'OMG...I cannot use my phone to type an sms using the qwerty in portrait mode...i'm going to die!'. Work around it for now. There are work arounds to everything in life just as long as it gets fixed in the end. Knowing nokia, they are rather good at that. On the aspects of + factors of meego, do some research. Nothing warrants an os with small bugs being sent to market but in the case of meego, it has to be introduced soon to market or it would have a huge impact on nokia sales for the year and faith in nokia through loyal buyers would be forever lost. So samsung sent the sgs to market with the gps not working properly was fine? Sending the sgs with kies being a pain was fine? The iPhone with antenna issues? The iPhone with proximity sensor problems? The htc with the faulty z hinge? The android phones draining battery quickly is fine (mind you going how many years now and still not fixed! Oh i'll just make the battery bigger for that prob)? These are all petty issues but has it stopped sales? Has the n8 done bad cos the os is incomplete and with the negative reviews? Should i go on? You need to stop, think about what exactly was meant in a post before you just blurt out and babble any nonsense. You want to interrogate and break down every word and isolate it from a sentence so as to make some remarks then fine. A string of words are put together for the purpose of a sentence. Understand the sentence properly before you blurt out. Some of it requires common sense which i'm afraid you lack. Btw, you hanging around here just proves me correct in my earlier post. Why are you here?

Considering that at the MeeGo actual stage you cannot receive a call, plus the rest of the problems, what do you see as "+ factors" which will supersede that?

2 million Euro? That's peanuts.
Currently I'm implementing a workflow system for a banking client. Value is 18 million Euro. That's medium scale.
And sorry, I don't trust you. I actually know enough about bug logging and change control to understand how it works - record, package, test, release. I honestly don't think you understand what you're talking about.
MeeGo will be ready when it's ready. If the project is aiming for Q3 then that's when it'll be there.
You should learn to be less bitter about your own poor choices. Life will be all the better for it.
