bug is always show up,whatever they launch upgrade.just eat it with pride
Anonymous, 24 Jan 2011This bug is only present in the native SMS app. SE phones are not affected by this bug because... moreOh? users can choose between SE custom SMS app or Android SMS app in the phone?
I love my vibrant....! I have horrible signal at my house and with the new features that froyo has I can make can or ever send messages through wifi... I love it!
nexus phones suck. notice the galaxy phones or other 2.2 running phones DO NOT have this issue....true google experience - not good. i will stick with buying preset phones cause OBVIOUSLY unlocked phones are messy.
finally !!! its about time they sent out android 2.2 to the samsung vibrant.
Megalord, 24 Jan 2011This seriously sounds like the fragmentation people accuse android of. My S60V5 devices have g... moreyes finally someone being honest about symbian. it isn't complete crap but no where near the best
Chocowii, 24 Jan 2011It's not a bug. Your phone is broken LMAO.
And, S40 is not Symbian. If S40 is Symbian it shou... morehaha lol my phone is broken right out of the box????? that screams quality on nokia's behalf(sarcasm). and yes it is symbian thats what the S in front of the 40 stands for.
though not as smart as an s60 or symbian^3 IT IS STILL SYMBIAN.
Anonymous, 24 Jan 2011This is what i got from samsung wave forum: Bada = Linux Kernal + nucleusRTOS bada act... moreThanks for the info! I really had no idea.. :)
Anonymous, 24 Jan 2011This bug is only present in the native SMS app. SE phones are not affected by this bug because... moreHey thanks for that, now I can safely buy the x10 mini pro (cheap and suffice for my NEEDS), and since I don't chase after the latest technology anyway - it's a never ending story.
Use "GO SMS" it is the best free sms-program on the Market (and GO Launcher EX is the best launsher). :)
Some guy from Greece, 24 Jan 2011What's the difference??This is what i got from samsung wave forum:
Bada = Linux Kernal + nucleusRTOS
bada actually consist of nucleus Real time operating system and uses it as O.S. RTOS is what we all have been using in all samsung phones for the past decade which are all dumb phones.
this is also the reason why wave is cheap according to its hardware which is even better then galaxy S (Galaxy does not have flash light and video recording is only at 22 FPS at max its 24 FPS, it also does not have an all metalic body like wave.....and many other minor things.) because the operating system is the cheapest available.
wave is blazing fast because of RTOS cos it is very small........lol
Also because of this RTOS samsung does not ever compare their BADA to iOS or android and call it smartphone for the masses
all the apps that are being developed are being devoleped on the basis of kernal and not on NUCLEUS RTOS(because nucleous RTOS is a closed os)
Anonymous, 24 Jan 2011But then why Nokia wants MeeGo on the N9? As a faithful Nokia customer what will you buy once ... moreWell. Everything that is 2-3 years old is getting replaced. Symbian 3 will probably be replaced too, though i don't think it will be that soon (2012).
What will i buy when Meego comes out? I'll have to see Meego first. And then it depends on my needs and my badget at the time and the competion not only on the OS but on the devices themselfs. Nothing is certain. I've owned a SE before and it was a great phone. Unmatched by any Nokia at it's time... We'll see...
Anonymous, 24 Jan 2011FYI bada is not even an OS, its just a software platform. they are not the same! What's the difference??
Megalord, 24 Jan 2011I suggest you get your facts right. Bada phones like the wave are meant to embrace the bada. I... moreAlright... Another time:
Could s8500 get the Adroid? Yes.
Did it? Nope. It got Bada.
Samsung chose Bada instead of Adroid. Is that a good definition of ditch for you?
Bada has found it's place in a very capable smartphone and has been a very succesfull combination with it. Now Samsung is furtherly developing Bada by adding more functions to it. Doesn't sound much like the platform for a feature phone, to me...
To your questions then:
"Also, do you know what bada was meant to serve? Its not a alternative to android, and was never meant to be."
--> "By the looks of it, Samsung is positioning Bada to be a good alternative to Android - and iOS too." says in the article:
http://www.gsmarena.com/details_for_bada_20_emerge_new_ui_and_nfc_in_store-news-2157.php
"Are you seriously thinking that if Samsung were to embrace bada 100%, their upcoming flagship phones are still on android?"
--> I don't know. Do you? Bada clearly is up for the task. YET. With Samsung investing on it how can you be sure that it won't be in the future?
"And do you actually know the ratio of the upcoming bada phones compared to android phones from the same company?"
--> Once again, i don't. Do you? How about the ratio of SALES among the two platforms for Samsung until know? I bet, though, Samsung does and Samsung is investing on Bada.
"Dude, stop your hallucinations and face the facts. The well may be small and comfortable but its time to get out and face the world."
--> I'd suggest you to stop insulting poeple you don't know. As for facts you are free to present yours, if you like. I haven't seen any of them so far. No information links, no numbers to support your opinion, no logic in your assumptions. No one needs an invalid opinion...
anonymous?, 24 Jan 2011reaLLy samsung is enhancing its technology...haize, but still why nexus is not available in my... moreYes. because that only depends on the carrier.
Megalord, 24 Jan 2011I think it might be a alternative business model. While one compromises sales of the other, bo... moreIt's a disaster business model. Each OS' has its own incurring costs and the profitability depends on the volume sold. So If Nokia goes with both S3 and MeeGo they cannot expect a serious profit, or worst they can expect large losses. Ask yourself, as a faithful Nokia customer, what will you buy? An S3 or a MeeGo Nokia? Nokia better make up their mind and "clear their desk". Unfortunately for the (soo fresh) S3 customers, dropping the Symbian 3(which will be inferior to Meego in every aspect) is the best option.
Anonymous, 24 Jan 2011But then why Nokia wants MeeGo on the N9? As a faithful Nokia customer what will you buy once ... moreI think it might be a alternative business model. While one compromises sales of the other, both can add together to provide market share above that of a single one. *shrugs
Anyway, the more OS the better for customers, minus the ongoing worshippers war.
Waxx, 24 Jan 2011actually, yes my nokia c3-00 does this ALL THE TIME its an s40 device but still a symbian. and... moreThis seriously sounds like the fragmentation people accuse android of. My S60V5 devices have got lots of issues too.
Some guy from Greece, 24 Jan 2011My point was that: not chosing a platform doesn't mean it has failed. Samsung hasn't chose Adr... moreBut then why Nokia wants MeeGo on the N9? As a faithful Nokia customer what will you buy once MeeGo is on the market? An S3 or a MeeGo device? Both OS's are competing for phones in the same price range. So one of them(or both) will lose. So you can see for yourself the future of S3. In 2012 probably, there will be no Symbian 3 phone produced.
Anonymous, 24 Jan 2011Other phones like Sony Ericssion's older phone won't get anymore updates, so meaning SE phones... moreThis bug is only present in the native SMS app. SE phones are not affected by this bug because they have their own custom SMS application.
