All Note 7 users should disable all updates on their Note 7. Also, they should change their IMEI.
Except all the rooted devices that don't take the update. Dumb.

Lack of security updates. No warranty claims (if u have to) sure you can install custom ROM but are there any out there?
Smart on Verizon side, to just do that knowing people will keep their N7s and still stay with the network
Dumb On Sammy side. If people made it this far those update won't do crap. Cant bipass all the blocked packages and firewall.
US are so lucky there is no IMEI block and won't be. Canada is always accepting everything. Its okay we will find a way around Imei as well. If Samsung thinks people would give up N7s for S7 edge, they have another thing coming,
Herodroid, 05 Jan 2017Why samsung couldnt just kill all their note 7 after second recall? they could have warned the... moreSimple. Humans are forgetful creatures. If you'll tell that in X days phones in type Y will shut down and even costum Roms won't help. Few days later ppl will forget the warning. And when it'll finally happen. The sudden cut from network/game/call/whatever they were doing would lead Samsung to a REALLY quick bankruptcy beyond repair. Hence. A gradual solution is more likely because it'a not OHKO, But rather Gradual, and hence more effective (but not perfect either. In every normal occasion there will be the Abnormal that will try to stop it.)
Samsung knows it Really well. That's why they prefer gradual choking over insta-shutdown
Btw. I admit I'm a Sammy girl. But for *&$# sake I don't mind moving to other companies either.
I don't get how this helps recover all the units. If you are a happy Note 7 owner, you heard about these updates, you turn off the updates. And I'm sure a lot of people already did that. Not everyone needs every single update anyway. Or am I missing something here?
