BUT emulators take a lot more power to run than the original system, so most modern phones could really only handle ps1 or n64 emulators as of right now. In a couple years though....

I have n95 (symbian), n an ipod-touch (ios). I was looking for an android os mobile now, which offers something extra, mainly in gaming. Since all other androids offer just the repack/ports of ios games, i m really following xperia play news closely. No brand loyalty, i just want new n fresh experience. After all, its just a mobile, and not one's spouse, that you need to be so much obsessed with a singular brand.

This is great news. There is a lot of android devices out there already sold. 1.6, 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3. By not limitiing the games to the SE stables only, the market is wide open for SE to snatch a big chunk out of the gaming arena with its previous experience and knowhow. All company mainly Microsoft and Samsung will follow suit with their own Game Market.

This is a whole new Ball Game after all.

But The BIG thing will be the infusion of MMORPG and Live Play options.

i think it would be pretty difficult to play games that require the use of both the square, triangle, etc buttons and the R1/R2 and L1/L2 keys without the actual hardware =/. Still looks great and we'll have to see how the games run on it.

[deleted post]Why too late? It is the first smartphone with natural keyboard. I don't care about upcoming android releases. If the phone is performing well as is, I am not updating at all. 2.3 is on the market but still less than 10% have it on their devices

This is ridiculous, ps1 emulator should be released only for sony ericsson devices or for hardware keybord enabled ones only. This surely kill Iphone as game device you can't compare psx games with iphone games, psx is miles above iphone.
