Apple came 11th... it could have been mentioned. Thanks for feeding the trolls guys...
harlekkin, 09 Jan 2017It buys companies and therefore buys patents... you own what you purchase, is that so hard to grasp?I use my iphone to wedge my bedroom door open and sometimes do my ironing with as it gets so hot .Thats innovation for ya
AnonD-625786, 09 Jan 2017LOL Apple has patents? Apple STEALS patents. It buys companies and therefore buys patents... you own what you purchase, is that so hard to grasp?
Samsung is also in the top 10 (no 2) when investing in R&D. And just like this, Apple is not even in Top 10
Patent system may be good or bad , but only if it forces firms to use them (that is patent will be issued only if you are going to make it to an commercial product in a given time span ), it will be perfect.
Apple don't need to be in the top ten or on this list of companies, because apple invented Everything from 2008 Lol ..
alex, 09 Jan 2017Because of this patents bullshit.no real innovation can take place. The patents system is a jok... moreMost big companies aren't really enforcing any patents that are ideas or other type of things. The issue is they need these patents to fight against patent trolls. These are smaller companies that try to make money off the companies that make money.
Even MS has stopped charging Android manufacturers for most of their patents since Satya has taken helm. There are a lot of patents MS holds not just for ideas but actual complete work, and even those patents they rather just have OEMs preload office apps instead of paying huge fees. Sure it still benefits them but then OEMs can either earn more or drop their prices. A lot of people already use office anyways. And those that don't may sign up. It's not guaranteed to get them more money but at least big companies are building better relationships and I think it's a step closer to better innovation. Working together even though you are competing. Take the idea of the hybrid device. OEMs and even Apple have all been copying the 2-in-1 surface type of device. MS doesn't care. Whether the OEM has chrome OS or windows, there's no charge for this idea. But some little guy could have gotten a patent like this and all of a sudden sued every big company making these. A lot of big companies believe the patent system needs changing.
what does Samsung's exploding battery have to do with Patents?
Foolish readers lol
AnonD-183110, 09 Jan 2017funny how samsung is not even in top 10 most expensive brands listNeither do all China brands
Samsung is king of all time note 7 failed but note this s8 is best smartphone of 2017 and ditch all chinese companies like xiomi oppo vivo and gain significant market share
k9cy666, 09 Jan 2017what about the BEP (Battery Explossion Pattern) ?I think Apple has done a good job copying Samsung.... tons of iPhones have burst into flames... so not to worry iFans... you are copying it too! LOL
AnonD-625786, 09 Jan 2017LOL Apple has patents? Apple STEALS patents. To be fair they patent other people's ideas and then claim the ideas ad their own, whilst also trying to make money from the patents. Innovation is the last thing on their minds. It's all about using any idea, whether their own or not, to make one by abusing the patent system. Ultimately it is protectionism and the US legal system supports it.
funny how samsung is not even in top 10 most expensive brands list
Because of this patents bullshit.no real innovation can take place. The patents system is a joke. You think of an idea, like let's say a lightsaber. You go to the patents office and claim it as yours. The patents office give you all the rights of the lightsaber, even though you didn't show an actual working lightsaber. It's just an idea.An idea that is patented and stops other that might create a lightsaber to even try create one.
