You guys just don't get it. It's the same how you bash and bash iPhone, and believe your own hype, then this comes out:

Simplicity? That would mean they're producing for tech illiterates.
Design? That would mean they're producing for posers.
Being different? That would mean they're producing for hipsters.
Enviromental-friendly products? That would mean they're producing products with a high fixability score, or last more than 3 years before they get obsolete by resource-consuming OS updates.
Processing performance? That would mean they're producing devices that can't be outrun by same-priced solutions.
Innovation? That would mean they're producing something brand new after Steve Jobs' death.

The fact is the new Macbooks have an inferior battery life to previous models.Mac users who have been waiting a long time for the new model have been very disappointed and are switching to Windows or buying the older model.
Anonymous, 16 Jan 2017Take a look at the specs of Macbook Pros. And typical windows laptops. Compare the battery ... moreMBPs aren't "typical" computers, they are high-end computers, actually high-end ultrabooks in the Windows world. There simple is no amount of spin that can make the 49.2Whr batteries (which equip the higher-end MBP13) comparatively "big" to any other high-end ultrabook that claims 10h of battery life.

Compare the battery size to the cpu / gpu equipped.
You will find that battery capacity is actually quite big.

These mod... moreJust because older models may have a good battery life, does not mean the newer one with a smaller battery will. Many reports are coming in that say the new Macs do not meet the battery life of previous ones.
have Consumer reports issued a statement that from now on, they will change the batterytests for Laptops, and therefor no old figures will be comparable?
If not, it sure seems like they were either payed or that they caved from the pressure of Apple.
I don't clear my cache that often. But for a test that should be the behaviour as it's supposed to simulate visiting different of sites. And pretty much everytime I use my computer, I visit new sites, that are not in my cache, even if I also visit cached sites.
I live in sweden, and the swedish supposed couterpart to Consumer Reports, has apple biased reviewers, so one can never trust a review with an Apple product.
Apple own a lot of their success with the iPhone and iPad due to reviewer bias. It was very clear in the first years of the iPone and the iPad.
But it's so much worse, when it's a test organisation like consumer reports.
Anonymous, 14 Jan 2017seems unlikely, wouldn't it just be cheaper and easier to fix the bug causing the problems? No if that "bug" is actually an undersized battery (as in the battery equipped in the newer models has far less capacity than the previous generations).

While everyone else has to design products that perform well in all tests/benchmarks (no matter how stupid they may be), Apple gets special treatment -- they get to dictate how others will test their products.
And they get as many goes as they want, apparently...
There simply is no way to compete against a rigged game.

So, while the result matches Apple's claim, it's not comparable to others. In simple words , Apple again gets special treatment. Because it's Apple.

MacBook Pro's are very well known for good battery life. These models no different, if they have patched a problem that was causing inconsistent battery life (not poor battery life) and now it is lasting as long as it should, then where is the bribe?
Sorry, but that sounds a lot like a bribery excuse. The kind of rubbish PR would say after taking a backhander from the company.
It does neither party any good - people will now think Apple will just use money to get recommendations that they don't deserve. And this review site will have lost a LOT of respect and reputation.
Macbooks are actually quite nice and reliable. I wouldn't spend that much money on one though. $1000 laptops are the limit for me. Unless I really need the serious computing power.

But honestly, i dont think they read that article as well, youtube generations attention span dont cover this, i just need one more line and this comment will become unreadable to them. There, done, unreasdable, better than 256-bit encryption.
Anonymous, 13 Jan 2017Crap. Still crap. And as always its based on mac's inability to runnpiratwd games? You never considered other types of usage, like what the majority of buyers use it for? We font have to like it but questioning its superiority for the majority require us to disregard most facts. Compared to a high end windows laptop its cheap when capabilities are counted in, but of course its not recommended gor gamers, just lik a ferrari isnt recommended for big families, that still doesnt diminish the ferraris capabilities. Buy what you need and let others do the same.
