I had the GN7 and simply don't like the curved screen edges. Look nice but they are harder to hold and you do make accidental edge presses... some apps are terrible.
As the piece says, this is a render from an anonymous case maker, if it is from a legitimate source then they will not know the materials the S8 is constructed from.
Surely it would be glass on the back rather than the metal looking image to continue with wireless charging which came with the GS6/edge?
I have no knowledge of the top secret device but reckon the 'case maker' may have size of the device specs and a creative designer has been, well...creative with the design.
For what it's worth, I think this will be close to the final phone with the almost full display for an incredible screen to footprint ratio.
I like it.

Boy you make me laugh so hard. They don't give a sheet about what you want or not, their only goal is to get crapple's clients.
That's the sad truth. Their goal is making money, not making you happy. If you are truly happy with one of their phones their job is not done. Cos they want you to buy a new phone every 6 months. Or at least send it once to the service with a broken display..
You know I'm right. Sad but true.
The only phone that kinda had a chance was Project Ara but that's history since Fuggle fked it up.
Big fan of GSM Arena, but this is just horrible and there is no way it will look like this.
If you are going to show a 3D rendering, a) Make sure it is highly credible. b) It is done professionally!

the design must be good to be true, but backside plash and heart rate monitor seems to differ from other leaks.

hephep! remember when your parents told you about " too good to be true".
Hm... how is anyone supposed to use it?
I already have a hard time holding my s7 edge for the edges. now I have nowhere to grip
Anonymous, 13 Jan 2017Stop trolling. Does this phone have a home button? How is it like the iPhone then?Idk, how about same shape, i.e. same sized rounded corners, minimal side buttons, ridiculously thin design that begs to be bent/crushed the first time it is put on someone's back pocket.
Either you can't see it or don't want to.

How many Samsung "Edge" toys have had their screens shattered by one errant fall? I know of at least 4 that friends have owned, and 3 were in hardened cases that still broke.
The entire idea of a "all screen phone" is for tech people to geek out over. Otherwise, it is just a gimmick to get average consumers to buy over-priced toys that will be easier and easier to break, thus requiring replacement sooner, making the phone companies more money.
The only place glass even belongs on a phone is the camera and on the FRONT SCREEN, period. Bezels are there for a designed reason, to keep your hands from unintentionally touching the screen, and to protect it from minor impacts.
And here I was hoping for a Note 7 replacement, where a phone would have a normal screen....

LoL....Mi Mix say hi.....
Sammy please don't omit the home button. It's kinda useful, like it can be used as a shutter for camera or a lot of other things if programmed to do so. I would like to see a dedicated camera shutter key in S8...
Stereo speakers and bezelless design sounds great... But I doubt that is the real/final design.

You have to be trolling because what you wrote is the exact opposite than reality, this is the first phone that completely departs from the original iphone's design (a slab with a screen in the middle)
I don't even like Samsung but I have to give her props for letting us to finally depart from the paradigm that iPhone built. Now that Jobs is (long) dead we have to start expecting other companies to innovate in mass market circumstances.
