Nokia does it again, after making customers wait from April to late October for the N8 they are again making the loyal customers that have purchase what is essentially a 2009 Omnia HD in the N8 body with a rather lame update.

The only redeming feature that the current S^3 browser had is that is will play flash videos and flash web content but other than that the browser its no beter than the S^60 browser.

I have an Omnia hd with custom firmware HX v11 and compared to the N8 the only things lacking are

    - fm transmitter
    - HDMI port
    - USB on the go
    - single tap / long press
    - 12MP cam

Other than those extra features the omnia HD basically does everything that the N8 does and also protrait swype virtual keyboard.

My point its that the Omnia HD is a 2009 handset that NOKIA copied for there 2010 release N8 but sill did not surpass it.

Nokia need WP7 for the US market and Android for Euro market.

After all this time, That is all N8 owners get? I was thinking of getting this phone for the camera, but if it's OS and browser doesn't improve, I'd rather wait for the Samsung Galaxy S2 or get the HTC Desire HD...

I bet this update brought support for E7 qwerty keyboard and E-series apps. So that's the reason why so few new features for N8 and others.

Most of the updated features are not directly visible to end users, but together, they will enhance the user experience of each Symbian device. Both the quality and the stability of the devices will be further enhanced. In addition to numerous tweaks and fixes, there’s also some new content.

                Says Nokia.
"Numerus tweaks and fixes" is also mentioned, Gsmarena...

I really wish nokia would offer these 3 models to be "Android upgradable", as much as I loved my nokia's before, they are missing the bandwagon by not jumping aboard android, and it doesn't even cost them anything coz android is free.

android on N8? AHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA its like windows 95 on my iMac....sounds funny. People grow up, nobody can go up forever, we need competition so we have better products..if we all buy the same they will tread us like zombies... just enjoy your android while we enjoy symbian, and try to install an HD game on it :)

Updaters are saying this update improves smoothness and stability and the OS is much quicker. I just tried to update mine but still not available in the UK. I also would like to point out for all the moaners out there, that all though this phone ain't perfect, it still has the best camera quality on the market bar none!

I know people go on about android...instead of bitching on here, go and buy one then. Personally, I think Nokia are on the up and deserve praise for the hardware and recent improvements to the OS!!! There is more to come with the big one - PR2.0 and I think we all won't be waiting too long for it either!

Totally agree .Nokia will seal its own fate if it dosent see sense and go android.Symbian is far too old in the tooth and outdated.Fair enough its great on the cheaper phones but not on smartphones.Bin it nokia or all your hard work will be for nothing.Symbian 3,4,5 it dosent matter how you say it,its time for change and a big change at that or watch your profits tumble.!!!!
