ProJames, 24 Jan 2017No, not true. Samsung uses Qualcomm's chips because of the CDMA modem to make it compatible in... moreIf Samsung is the one producing the chips for Qualcomm it is way cheaper for them to use the SD835. They get paid for producing it and then pay back to buy the chips. It ends up costing less than completely losing money on production and then only getting paid back if people buy all the phones with those chips.
So if Samsung keeps all the sd835 for themself, i'm gonna wait anyway for the others to come with their phones. I won't buy a Samsung cause they're the first to be in the market.
Anonymous, 24 Jan 2017Samsung posted a good Profit despite the haters and jokers. Make more note 7 jokes...Those profits didn't come from mobile phone sales sorely but from the whole corporation. They can't let an another Note 7 happen again or their Mobile Division not gonna survive.
No, not true. Samsung uses Qualcomm's chips because of the CDMA modem to make it compatible in the US. Or else they would've ditched Qualcomm long time ago (they did it for the S6x though). Their chips are less expensive for them (they are doing it for themselves so...), better battery management and battery life. In synthetic benchmarks, the S820 only takes a slight head over the 8890 in single core performance and GPU, but users won't notice it. But the 8890 is a multitasking beast. Go ahead Samsung, keep your Exynos chips and let these S835 for the US. ONLY the US (I was disappointed that the Canadian Note 7 had a S820. VERY disappointed, as only Bell uses CDMA and is being phased out completely in 2017. )
When will all these nerds gonna realized the joke is on them. Hate all you want on Samsung. They still the biggest smartphone manufacturer. They still make big profit.

Dang such crude bussiness forom qualcom leaving its friends behind.
I only wish Samsung would focus on delivery great products, rather then manipulate the market in their favour.
I am looking at the J3 2016, because it has dual SIM and removable battery. The A3 2017, which just launched is stilll crippled, as it does n't have true dual SIM (as you can either have an SD card or SIM2). They made the same decision in the A3 2016.
I don't know what the J3 2017 will be launched, but it is unliekly to have Android Nougat. I want Nougat as it was split screen capability....
LG superfan, 24 Jan 2017If not 835 use kirin 960Lol no one will buy the phone except reviewers
So what. the S8 will dominate like the S7 and S6 before it, LG/Sony/Huawei cant match samsung sales in the top tier department, even if they have some nice although not better alternative, If Samsung goes back to releasing a Google Edition Phone, ie without the horrid Touchwiz, heck no one would buy any other phone !
If this is true, then it is highly unethical and uncompetitive practice. Whilst this is a punch in the face for competitors, but it is also bad for consumers who will have less choice in the market place.
Tann Hauser, 24 Jan 2017Agreed. Thats why I buy Sony. Sony smelled the rat, Sonys phones dont have a single samsung ... moreThat's still no reason to think of Sony as anything great. Just because Samsung's phone division is evil, doesn't mean that their other divisions are. When you are as big of a companyas Samsung is, not every division would be filled with saints.
AbhiDahiya, 24 Jan 2017All samsung fans posting nonsense in here, if Exynos was so good, the wouldn't think of ditchi... moreSnapdragons were always murdered in all the objective cpu tests (SpecInt, phoronix bench suite). Qualcomm plainly don't know how to make current cpus, theirs always look a generation behind. Only the CPUs she created in 2013 were good enough (SD600 and SD800), in everything else she is consistently smoked by Samsung, Apple and even ARM.
She does make good modems and gpus but those are only secondary parts on a SoC. The fact that she hoarded all those contacts are patent reasons. Basically Qualcomm played the market, but their quality is middling (not atrocious like Intel's, not top notch like Apple's).
And I'm neither a Samsung or Apple fan ... just check SpecInt and photonix number for snapdragons. They consistently underperform
Knighfury, 24 Jan 2017Come-on guys this is just a rumour...Yes, but this is how us mobile nerds treat companies that use anti-competitive practices
Samsung knows that they can't beat the G6... So they're willing to even break the law to stop them. XD
The Samsung is a evil company. That's why I hate this nonsense company and I'm buying LG. Sure LG will release G6 with SD821 now. But they will get SD835.
