Shadow Snypa786, 25 Jan 2017"a small hiccup" The only 2 companies that could survive those hiccups are Apple and Samsun... moreYeah. Many people fail to see that if this fiasco had happened to anybody else aside from Apple and Samsung. Those companies would never have been able to recover their reputation and profit. $5 billion wiped off your operating money is quite the massive chunk of money for the smaller OEMs.
bobby21, 25 Jan 2017This only shows that the Note 7 sales didnt impact the sale figures of Samsung. The Note serie... moreNot the correct conclusion. Samsung has the outstanding S7 duo to thank, as they did double-duty and were able to mitigate any potential losses.
The Notes are BTW one of the more critically acclaimed smartphone lines out there today and they do have hardcore loyal users who swear by their S-pens!
They provide parts for other phone manufacturers. So I don't think Note 7 was an issue with Samsung's profitability.
[deleted post]I doubt it I think they fine for the next few years, their Note series is big but luckily their OLED, RAM and storage sales have helped them survive. Even if their phone sales decline they can make money in other departments
This only shows that the Note 7 sales didnt impact the sale figures of Samsung. The Note series is too small to make a huge difference.
