It is on MM. Considering there is less than 1% of Android phones on Nougat today, MM is fine for the next 2 to 3 years, as long as Lenovo keeps pushing security updates. This is my biggest beef. Google has intentionally separated security patches so it can be applied without relying on the OS upgrades. Heck, Xiaomi can keep the lowest end old Redmi 1S on Kitkat with security updates.
The E3 power is actually a very decent phone. Sure it has MTK, but since it has very close to stock Android, the performance is snappy and fine. I just hope Lenovo is not slacking off on security updates.
Lol.. Nought on 1ghz mediatek phone? Are these guys complaining lose their mind?
It was Google that made updates faster in old moto phones. Still they are trying their best. Before Google, moto was crap in software and its updates. With lenovo, its far better. Even moto G4 play is getting new updates
4 months old and already unsupported. I'll buy a generic Chinese phone instead.
Anonymous, 30 Jan 2017Oh please tell me which company updates its 100$ phones? It's 120 $ phone and I never said that other brands are updating their phones in same price category. My point was that if someone is thinking that Moto will update such a pathetic configuration phone then they are wrong. At least other brands are offering way better confirmation. So go for better value for money as Moto has lost its value for money offering. Moto E1 and E2 offered much better config in their time.
Anonymous, 30 Jan 2017Oh please tell me which company updates its 100$ phones?Firstly it's not a $100 phone and second Motorola has updated Moto E(1st Gen) from 4.4.4 to 5.0.2 to 5.1.1
Moto E was first launched after Lenovo acquisition. So judging by their treatment so far, this series never had proper commitment by them in the first place.
If you buy budget moto lineup, at most will probably only get 1 year of software update. The higher end will probably get 1,5-2 years.
The journey from HALO Moto to Bye Bye Moto end here. Two minutes silence for E lineup.(mediatek plus No updates)
I told this to two of my friends who didn't believ me and still bought E3 power. Now I am going to forward this to them and see their reaction... :D
Yes Lenovo and now Motorola loose very badly..Moto E3 power should have come with SD430 against Redmi 3s. But mtk and now not even a 1 update...This will be really a death to Moto E brand. None will buy it in future..They should have sold Moto g play with bigger battery as Moto E3 power. Death to E4. Lenovo biggest problem is trust. They don't have proper line ups and commitments..Lenovo a company with mental product manager. Now Moto will face same fate of Lenovo mad phone, pricing, updates strategy.... Why Moto M ever exist..
So lenovo took the only reason from users for getting a moto phone- timely updates. And if you really want to make a profit from moto phones, this ia the worst way of going about it!
Lenovo is doing fine in killing the Moto brand, but still has a lot to learn.
They should look at how Mircosoft killed Nokia.
Trump is going to do the same thing
What lenevo did to Motorola.
Lenovo and Motorola are the most untrusted brands for updates.
Zuk Z1 was launched with lollipop and was said that it will get Marshmallow in a months time. And it never delivered.
And now moto e3 power faces the same
