AnonD-1191, 09 Feb 2011its look gud on papers but when we implement it practically its not easy to go for other OS. ... moreWP7 is a very weak OS in my opinion. I don't like that OS.
[deleted post]whole europe thinks that android and apple r trying to dismantle nokia.
Thats why they suggest not to adopt android in european market.
The article is posted in "symbian-freak.com"
Wp7 could be a choice.
Now I see, why I'm downloading new firmware update for my C5-00 at this moment. Nokia staff started working.
noro, 09 Feb 2011There are 2 solutions:
1. go with meego and improve it to it's best (doubt)
2. Join android ... moreoh buddy "apple and android wants to crush nokia symbian"
not "android wants to dismantle apple"
AnonD-1191, 09 Feb 2011its look gud on papers but when we implement it practically its not easy to go for other OS.
... moreNokia must stop using Symbian, it is outdated and far from userfriendly and definetly not as good looking as costumers expect to get when then pay this much money, 599 euro for E7...
MeeGo is not as good as fans believe, it is actually still so very bad that Nokia cannot use it on any of their phones yet, and Nokia is trying to hard to make it better than Android and they fail because Android is evolving faster than Nokia can develop MeeGo.
CEO Stephen Elop is probably still undercover-worker for Microsoft, because Microsoft have all to win if Nokia start using Windows Phone 7, but Nokia have all to lose if they let the gigantic Microsoft take indirect control over Nokia, and Microsoft anything really good and Apple and Linux and Android all started to free themself from Microsoft killing domination and poor software. Windows Phone 7 is nowhere as good as Android, so the best thin for Nokia would be to accept that they cannot do everything on their own but should do as SonyEricsson and Samsung and... and join the Android-world. They are very welcome to join and Noika will then get many new customers. Android and Google is good because all the apps you have bougt from Android market can be used on any Android from any manufacturer, SE Samsung HTC LG..., and all Android-lovers could then easy change to a new phone from Nokia. Today I will never by anything else than an Android simply because I have invested to much of my money in apps and games for Android.
i dont get it, something like this should never gone public, that being sayd hope nokia come up with something big real fast or else...
[deleted post]it's good. i like to see it happens, sadly it's not good enough. Indonesia is indeed is one of the main market of nokia, i am indonesian and used to see nokia store flooded with people. I don't think nokia can compete in low end device with chinese phone, they are fast, they are cheap. New design coming up in less than a month, most of them costs like 20-40 USD, with 3 active simcard (both GSM and CDMA on 1 device), TV tuner (you can watch tv on your phone). While what nokia offer for 20-40 USD range is some no feature with nokia brand-cheap enough to buy for your lovely kids..
Oh yes, Nokia shouldn't adopt WP7 and android, i do agree with you. They should concentrate on making meego an ultimate OS much better than android and they should fix their marketing. Symbian 3 is good for mid range phone, Nokia should make meego their main focus for high end phone. I do believe they need to follow the trends of increasing the hardware. I don't care if nokia fan said, "it's fast enough and stable", the data shows the truth, people want higher spec. Nokia give a last year good enough spec to 2011 and they try to sell it at 600USD, i think it's unacceptable.
It would be a lot easier if Nokia listened the users. Just grab an iphone 4 and a n8 and try to do the same thing. I own a n8 and I feel frustrated with Symbian^3 slowness. I envy WP7 and iphone owners :(
There are 2 solutions:
1. go with meego and improve it to it's best (doubt)
2. Join android wich google have large arms and they would gladly recieve nokia into their warm arms.
Nokia,if you want to rull go for android it's already ruining Apple's pride and with nokia's help could go even further!!

... morePlease refer someone's name correctly, its Tomi T. Ahonen, you confuse me for a second there.
Well, he is a "former", not a current. And, why do you believe it's true from him? No valid website or source applied and he only says "may be a hoax" means he doesn't even sure himself. I read all the way to the bottom, there are a some mistake he made in there, notice "Ahonen says the Ovi App Store is second to Apple's" ? We know second to apple's app store is android market. And yes, i use nokia right now, so you can't say i never use and download apps from ovi store. Ovi store sucks a lot, i remember a paid apps, it's a "campfire picture on your nokia device, get it now for $2.99, decorates your living room with warm on your device", and it's on "FEATURE" list. oh come on...
i think it is time for the die hard fans to accept it , even the CEO of nokia has effectively stated it, Symbian is an Albatross around nokia's throat draggin them to the deeps.
what they need to do and apppear to be doing now is recognising they are throwing good money after bad, and will at last be ceasing developement on a software environment they themselves have admitted is to fixed and limited to operate in current phone environments
[deleted post]Gud,u have read my core point what i wanted to convey.
"samsung is the biggest danger to NOKIA"
It seems there aren't any good midrange phones in Nokias portfolio, something like SE's Elm maybe: C5 is close but being a smartphone, there's some unwanted side-effects like crashing software, it's not the best choise for people who want actually use their phones. 6700 is a star of course, but with midrange features it costs like a high-end device. Even high-end seems to have gone downhill: lots of reports of crashing software, telephony problems. X2, c2 have their audience of course, but where's good reliable midrange with all the features one would expect from a phone today: good camera, good connectivity, good screen, good keypad and acceptable pricerange? Nokias low-end isn't what it used to be either. It's not all about smartphones you know, people still do use their phones for things like calling.
Nokia has made quite a handful of mistakes lately. They made a mockery out of the N900 and Maemo, leaving the third party developers do almost all the work that the buyers want, i'm an N900 owner and i'm thinking on moving to Galaxy S, cause i'm tired of installing applications and games that were initially designed for other OS's and devices.
I'm sorry, i've always been a Nokia fan, but their indetermination has just reserved their 2'nd spot in mobile phone industry and i predict a slow and painful death if they don't do any miracles soon.
Along with Sony Ericsson, Nokia will join Siemens to the pit of great mobile phone producers gone to dust.
Bye, Nokia, hello Samsung!
hmm its right that nokia is past now, i was a big fan of nokia but now shifted on apple and also prefer android over symbian. nokia shud change their os and and ui of phone.
it is totaly a loss to make high end e7 like phones with no competetive edge over iphone or galaxy or even any htc high end android phone.
Mobilemaster, 09 Feb 2011I think that they should make Android smart phones instead of Symbian, or they should make the... moreits look gud on papers but when we implement it practically its not easy to go for other OS.
When Nokia has spent huge R&D on symbian and Meego then why to join android.
It will be a catastrophe for nokia.
"Apple and android wants to break nokia SYMBIAN"
Becoz NOKIA IS EUROPEAN AND THEY ARE AMERICAN.
"Even the whole europe techiest r urging nokia not to join android"
Only sensible choice europe suggest is to go for WP7 TEMPORARY & TO REMAIN WITH S^3 AND MEEGO.
TOMI HONEN SAYS
"They just need proper planning and execution of their resources"
"samsung is the biggest danger to NOKIA "
i have post the strategy of nokia for 2011.
AnonD-1191, 09 Feb 2011when u are the CEO of multinational company its not easy to move the company from down to up s... moreu are talking about extreme ideal condotions and it is very difficult to happen. nokia has lost to much and no decision shd be made so quick cz it will definitly take not less than 2 to 3 years for nokia coming back in market if it plans very quickly and very fast bcz other which has dominated the market are not blind, remember they have guts to beat nokia and they have done.
Nokia will never abandon Symbian and Meego, friday's announcement will be about OVI services, and OVI ecosystem, they could adopt Microsoft's live services and have a deeper integration with Windows.
AnonD-1191, 09 Feb 2011when u are the CEO of multinational company its not easy to move the company from down to up s... morei just read it all the way.. sigh.. is it your strategy or elop strategy ? why are you the one saying "his strategy should be like this. his oath should be like that". Sigh, common.. With all due respect, you are not Stephen Elop (or are you?)..
