I own a Nokia N8, a powerful smartphone but it comes with a very poor OS, I dream see it running in Android (or some OS like Android) to take advantage to all good things that its hardware have, by now is only another Nokia smartphone, nothing more than this...

Nokia should no go for WP7. If they do, they will drasticly change from manufacturer which produce their own OS to just hardware maker. Android is better option for Nokia because it will still allow some customization. It will be nice to see Android in Nokia's flavor.

Well whatever happens, Symbian would still be used in the low-mid range cheap phones. So bash it all you want, it still dominates most part of the World except for the US. I'd probably go for the Android since Phone7 is too restrictive about hardware.

Who cares what the US customers think? They're dumb and would buy anything that Apple releases (like an 800 dollar phone that can barely sustain signal) .

grazzz, 10 Feb 2011me too. thx God it was my first and last symbian. i never bother when it stolen by thief caus... moreAbsolutely agree with you...no WP7 or Android for the almighty brand. Just keep its cassette-like Symbian for the rest of its life...keep those die-hard fans happy by charging them US$1000 per handset, they'll be happy.

Then ROW will move on to something else, except this company loves to constantly releasing so called "new" models with minor changes, so more unused phones may go to landfills.

Not only I hate the supporters, I also hate the company who tried to DOMINATE the market. About 2 years ago it tried to bribe one of my local phone chain to be its "exclusive" seller...downplaying all other brands.

Then the raise of Android made the chain realize it would be dead by merely selling those N900's. So it got out of the well and has been selling at least 10 times more Android phones than those Symbian.

Hmmmm... I smell Nokia going for an Android. But not a bad move if they will. There really is nothing bad with having Android in its arm, most especially Android is all the rage these days. WP7 on their portfolio also isn't bad.
All in all, it would be nice of them to have all of these: Android, WP7, MeeGo, Symbian, Maemo, S40

At least buyers have more choice than ever!

The memo was neither confirmed or denied by Nokia. So it must be true!
Great job GSMArena for informing us the truth.

Anonymous, 10 Feb 2011Well it seems that symbian is dead since nokia itself does not have faith in symbian, thank go... moreme too. thx God it was my first and last symbian.
i never bother when it stolen by thief cause God send me a better replacement.

i hope nokia will not jump to WP7 or android,
i like to see them trying to make symbian survive and sold more lies about symbian.
i like to see how many years it will take to bury symbian.

i dont hate nokia, but i dont like people trying so hard to defend that keypad OS,always brag about changing ringtones like it was the most important thing in smartphone industry.
they will tell you how good symbian is for...calling and text.
they always tell you iOS and android will never stand in front of symbian, why?? thats the one they will not tell you, all you'll got for answer is "trust me".

they will tell you "trust me" and so you can waste your hard earn cash for a trash keypad OS that can not do anything good except for calling, text, changing ringtone and playing mp3 and is that really a smartphone??? huh wake up people.

AnonD-1082, 10 Feb 2011One man's analysis of the memo does not make the memo fake. Nokia did not even bothered to den... moreI'm not denying that Nokia does not need some changes. I definitely think that their current offerings need to improve greatly to be competitive.

Still, the arguements he presents seem reasonable to suggest the memo may not be authentic. Nokia did issue a response to the story about the memo. Although they did not deny its authenticity, neither did they confirm it. I would not expect them to talk about internal communications in the public anyway.

nokia still have brand image and trust. make it as USP. others follow Nokia and win the race. now if Nokia following others, it will also loose the race.if Nokia make its own path then only Nokia can win this race.
