If goes with MediaTek again, dont buy it ! Its very bad chipset to power consumation, and makes battery drain. Snapdragon
IronHeart8, 01 Feb 2017They could've launched with SD soc just like they do for RN seriesWell second gen will come with SD SoC...
ZolaIII, 31 Jan 2017It couldn't be launched they have a ban in India on launching anything with MTK SoC's... They could've launched with SD soc just like they do for RN series
Lead2XL, 31 Jan 2017Looks better than the Redmi Note 4 but perhaps not as high as the Mi5/Mi6 or Note line?? Can't... moreYes this is most underrated and mysterious xiaomi phone. This phone perform very good and it price is very reasonable.
Xiaomi time and time again use great camera hardware that doesnt deliver the mi 5s... Perfect example not terrible performance but terrible for a flagship and oh my gosh lets not forget the disgrace 4axis ois of the mi 5, filthy trash ois i hope they learn from their mistakes
IronHeart8, 31 Jan 2017Even Redmi Pro has not been launched in India, dont think this will tooIt couldn't be launched they have a ban in India on launching anything with MTK SoC's...
Herodroid, 31 Jan 2017so now single cameras in 2017 are weird? seriously. I don't want crappy and ugly dual camera s... moreI think because Xiaomi its failure to makes Dual camera having great photos, look at Mi5s Plus its has bad camera than Mi5s. Huawei,LG,Apple and ASUS its did great job for their Dual Camera tech. And dont forget, Price.
I baought Redmi pro for my wife... screen has burn in effect after 3 months. Soooo, maybe ditch the producer of last screens. Everything else is top notch.
So it will be better in several key aspects (ram, battery) than S8 and similar in others (cpu, screen, probably camera given its specs) and only be worse in two (gpu and IP rating) both of which are irrelevant to most people. Oh and it will cost 1/3rd the S8's price ... and another thing, unlike Samsung that gives up on devices 2 years after their release, Xiaomi keeps supporting them, my Mi2 is still being updated.
In short why does Samsung not trying to compete with Chinese phones and only looks at Apple's direction (a company that is falling anyway)? I'm not talking prices, they could compete in specs at least (ram and battery in particular).
Ok, the full specs read:
Metallic body with slim antenna lines
Qualcomm Snapdragon 660
6GB RAM and 128GB storage
IMX362 12MP sensor
Quick charge support
so now single cameras in 2017 are weird? seriously. I don't want crappy and ugly dual camera smartphone... its solo dumb to go with this... Why not go with 4 camera setup already then? That's cheating.
what's with people wanting USB type-c when it does NOT perform anywhere like the type-c in Macbook or Surface Pro 4.
