I m big disappointed with nokia decisions.I will not prefer wp7 devices.I love to b symbian only symbian only symbian.Symbian is that os which made nokia king of mobiles.2012 the end of world will b more good rather having nokia+wp7.

Finally Nokia is meeting its fate and that is only due to their dis-loyalty to their loyal customers, N97 Buyers. I wish Nokia best of luck and but I am sure this will not good for Microsoft if they take the attitude of NOKIA towards their customers as a fruit of merger. Hopefully the other companies will learn from NOKIA experience and will listen to their customers.

they had a 50/50 choice between android and microsoft... and they just mess it up by making the wrong choice.

I hope they come to their sences and begin to use android as well.

We all know that nokia phones have good hardware....I just hope that they dont start cutting down features and hardware just because windows doesnt support the features.

Windows is very limited. It will never be as open as android or symbian. I don't think it will be good move.

Windows phone 7 is the worse choice ever. It has a awkward interface (is like scrolling through a big picture). Boring and clumsy. I'll go for android phones manufacturers.
                Buy buy Nokia.

Mainly MS will benefit from this alliance by selling more units and far better penetration. But what is going in Nokia's mind. IMO Nokia will not get any benefit. They should have planned better.

to many a worst decision, (for me also), but many decisions that seem to be too bad or against the wil generate good. the wp7 wil not look alike this (as it is now), nokia wil make changes to it, and it wil blow away other OSs. nokia can make symbian and meego great but they were runing short of time, and the wise decision was taken. hope for the best. good wishes. Maybe symbian is an old OS but still it offers most of the functionalities which android or windows 7 can't offer.
Nokia is going to lose a huge percentage of symbian loving customers who want full functionality from their OS.

All these haters and Windows is still the most popular platform in the desktop space. And back in 1997, didn't Microsoft save Apple from going under? I know people hate Ballmer. I also know Bill Gates tried to monopolize and already left Microsoft. But the guy who helped build Microsoft seems like a more generous man and better human being than Steve Jobs will ever be.

                                  Wait a minute.
Ovi+ MS market place= MS Market Place.

Ovi is second only to Apple's appstore. In that light the honour of retaining the name should have been Nokia's.
That memo stunt by Steve Elop clearly shows he was on a covert mission for Microsoft. Symbian sales are really going to cripple. I mean who buys a gadget knowing very well that future support and commitment is hazy.
This is no good decision at all and i hope that Nokia BOD does something before a disparaging or irreparable damage falls on Nokia.
