Hope that Intel helps Xiaomi giving them the required help by giving the foundries to make enough chips and the Modem to avoid to pay patents and to enter easier on other markets.
Anonymous, 06 Feb 2017Everthing is 'In-House' now. Got to stop depending too much on suppliers. SD835 unavailability... moreI would also appreciate this. More competition wouldn't be bad for the mobile SoC market. The match Qualcomm vs Mediatek became like Intel vs AMD on desktop, just that there are also other manufacturers making their own chips like HiSilicon (Huawei), Samsung and Apple
Someone Else, 06 Feb 2017You make your own chipset then. We'll wait for it.sorry I'm too young
Anonymous, 06 Feb 2017Lol. Didnt even realized it would offend Apple. Sorry. I purely directed my comment to Pinecone. It's ok, that's why I asked if it was on purpose :)
Shaun Moroz, 06 Feb 2017This is going to be a failure. Guaranteed. Yeah I agree with that
Anonymous, 06 Feb 2017Waiting for the end of this company :) Get a life....!
Shaun Moroz, 06 Feb 2017Forgot to mention ''in my opinion''. My bad!You cant guarantee if its just your opinion....
Twatonk, 06 Feb 2017They've been unreal since Hugo Barra leftIta been under development for years, hugo barra left few days ago....
johnnkennedy, 06 Feb 2017they sell their phone's more cheap now :)Still to early to say that it's going to be cheap. It going acquire dozens of patents/royalty payments or contracts before they could sell it out of china or even in there home turf.

SD835 unavailability contribute very little or none at all in the creation of Pinecone. Though, I may say it is wiser to futureproof their company with in-house chipsets. I hope all the 'top' brand use their own chipset and less dependant on Qualcomm or Mediatek.
Great, after Qualcomm overpriced chipsets' scandal and the stunt Samsung pulled with all the Snapdragon 835, every phone manufacturer should start to create their own chipsets and keep Qualcomm's monopoly at bay.
Good to see some domestic competition for Huawei's HiSilicon Kirin chips.
Especially if they make all their chips on
Shaun Moroz, 06 Feb 2017This is going to be a failure. Guaranteed. The chipset is not even out yet. And you haven't even seen review of a single device, featuring that SoC. And you can guarantee that it will be a failure. I would suggest - be more open minded.
I have my own doubts on the chipsets coming out of china - for having malware. But we need to wait and see. Not pass judgment even before it is out.
Anonymous, 06 Feb 2017Should this be offense towards apple? And if so, why?Lol. Didnt even realized it would offend Apple. Sorry. I purely directed my comment to Pinecone.
