And close your eyes each Time someone write about Qualcomm behaviour about Frand (you probably even don't know what is Frand!!!!)
Guilty in china, guilty in Korea, European union and even US investigate on it...
Mediatek is able to do a better job than Qualcomm...But not able to sell it.
In 20nm, Qualcomm sell S810, what a shame!!!
X20 is OK in 20nm! Even as fast as 16nm UFS 2.0 S820 on some tasks
Lol, x30, going to be another flop, s835 will murder this, it will run rings round it, enjoy your rubbish hello chips, they're completely a waste of time.
Anonymous, 14 Feb 2017You can always remove/disable bloatware. Nothing stops you from that. Not unless you root the phone and install a custom ROM, which is a terrible amount of effort just to get the phone to a state that is usable
I think this is the first time we see a Mediatek chipset to be this interesting since Samsung/Qualcomm wants to monopolize the Snapdragon Chipset for themselves.
zaza, 13 Feb 2017Snapdragon 835 uses semi-custom Cortex-A73 and not Cortex-A72i hard to believe they have enough time to modify&verify newer A73, because world first original A73 kirin 960 out only 4 month before.
Obi Wan Kenobi, 13 Feb 2017Anything notice something odd with that weirdly-space UI on the Apollo smartphone?!extremely odd you may say, too much space from the notification panel which makes me think it's photoshopped and they forgot to adjust the details

Worst than A72!
Due to the lack or real LITTLE core, Kryo is compromise...Nothing more.
Even Qualcomm nearly admit it : s835 is close to A73 big.LITTLE
Lte cat 16 is useless until your CPU is unable to treat bandwidth...Try to open website on your PC with a 20Mb ADSL and a 600Mb 4G smartphone...
GPU on x30 is between iPhone 6s and iPhone 7...If stable that will be great!
GPU on Snapdragon are always the same : Lost half the framerate on Long Term performances (805/810 QHD 820) and made to fit benchmarks with heavy fillrate but GPU is not only fillrate.
Anonymous, 13 Feb 2017According to Anandtech, Snapdragon 835 uses semi-custom Cortex-A72 as performance coreSnapdragon 835 uses semi-custom Cortex-A73 and not Cortex-A72
Anonymous, 13 Feb 2017RAM management is common amongst android phones. Stop thinking android is like Windows ... not... moreYou must be misunderstanding, I'm saying that the company will probably lead a ton of their own apps into the RAM, out the like, and would not allow the user any of that RAM, this giving the phone a lot less RAM
This one ticks all the "Chinese Flagship" boxes:
-Photoshopped screen bezels in promo pictures... check.
-Powerful CPU paired with weak-sauce GPU... check.
-More RAM than you'll ever need because it's a cheap component that looks good on paper... check.
-"First-ever" claim with no actual release in sight... check
Can't wait for the flash sales :)
Anonymous, 13 Feb 2017Only when I see a performance comparison, not benchmarks, will I begin believe Mediatek is cap... moreI've been using a phone with MT6589 for the past 3 years and the first app to make it sweat was Fallout Shelter so I know for a fact they're not bad processors. Snapdragon line on the other hand had a bad track record of overheating before the 14nm process. That being said I'm now switching to SD 820 simply because it's the best CPU on the market at the moment and it's going to be a while before affordable phones with comparable MTKs appear.
