Anonymous, 13 Feb 2017Bad choice to go with Mediatek. The only innovation here are the 8GB of RAM. The Mediatek part... moreMediatek is using stock ARM cores (A73) so I expect beating Snapdragon 835 (using terrible Kryo cores).
PLAYER SLAYER, 13 Feb 2017It'll probably have terrible RAM management, though.RAM management is common amongst android phones. Stop thinking android is like Windows ... nothing alike. There is the OOM values and the way android works with background app that does the thing.
8GB makes sense because it allows all apps to remain in the background ready on call. Anything less/other than that would cause app reloads. IOS beats app reloads by killing (most of) backgrounding, android does it with RAM amount.
This company does it well and I expect 2017 to be second year in a row that chinese phones are performance champs (last year's it was the Chinese OnePlus 3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otwED6s3rCQ )
